The Fool uses double-talk and seemingly frivolous songs for speaking the truth and to criticize Lear with irony and sarcasm for the latter’s foolish mistakes.
@ThaisEscufon In 1830 Delacroix painted Liberty flag held high, leading Frenchmen over the barricades for their own country.
2026: "Students" loot. The actual French lie face-down in the rubble, no longer the people being liberated but the inconvenient debris that must be stepped over.
@Geiger_Capital "The growing gap, which had become abyssal, between the population and those who spoke in its name was bound to lead to something chaotic, violent and unpredictable.”
~ Submission, Michel Houellebecq
@raqisright Sending a bill after being friendzoned is tacky, but so is treating dates like a free meal ticket (not saying you). I used to have a roommate who’d swipe right on dates she knew had zero future with purely for the free brunches and dinners.
@elonmusk@a16z This has been discussed in several podcasts where AI voice agents threaten 90% of Philippine call center jobs, which is about 8% of its GDP and endangering its middle class triggering a broader macroeconomic collapse.
@raqisright 1) Anyone who goes that hard on a first date is usually overcompensating. 2) You can’t sustain that energy forever, even if he can afford it. It gets boring after a while. Better slow, gradual, adventurous, and creative. 3) In SATC, the grounded one ended up with the bald guy.
@aubreystrobel And almost every every movie, show, and games are split across a different subscription, and you practically need a treasure map just to find what’s and where it is playing. Great movies, series, sports events get buried behind paywalls. People are missing more content than ever.
@raqisright This happened to me a few years back (no pun intended): my doctor used a therapeutic ultrasound wand on my back, then prescribed and had me use a lidocaine patch, rest, and avoid carrying anything uneven/heavy for a bit (obviously). Apply heat helped once the spasm calms down.
@nycdivorcelaw In English pub culture, there used to be something like a "liquid handshake": arguing all night but buying your opponent a drink after--it means not an apology, but respect--you were worth arguing with. We seem to have lost that. Now it's tribes, certainty, enemies.
@lxxndria Before judging or discriminating when you see Greek letters, maybe you should realize it could be an academic honor society like Sigma Xi (scientific research excellence) or Sigma Pi Sigma (for physics) rather than a fraternity. Ask or learn more before jumping to conclusions.
