Many in Singapore do not understand what is going to hit them in the coming years. All the benefits that they have enjoyed the past 40-50 years from the tailwind of globalization, free trade, free movement of people, cheap money and financialization is reversing. The past 40-50 years were disadvantageous for commodity producers and manufacturers like #Malaysia and #Indonesia. The winds have changed and the next few decades will benefit resource rich countries at the expense of resource poor ones like Singapore. Add in deglobalization where there will be increasing restrictions on movement of goods, services, people and capital, it will be Singapore's turn to face headwinds and have to play defense. When the power shifts, existing suppliers and partners will find and create any reason and excuse to revoke old arrangements to renegotiate from a new position of strength

And the Singapore dollar? As I expect the USD and most indebted developed countries to debase and devalue significantly their currencies to inflate away their debt and rebalance their economies, the SGD will fall. By how much? Against the MYR, 2.0 would be a modest target.

This is not an attack against any country. The macro changes are way inevitable and beyond #Singapore's control. We all need to adapt and protect our wealth and reposition ourselves for what's to come.

The good news is that Trump and Musk now have to DEFEND THEMSELVES against accusations that they are harming Ukraine.

Remember, when Trump came to power, the old ape didn't just stop aid to Ukraine. He BRAGGED about no longer supplying Ukraine with weapons paid for by American taxpayers.

But times have changed. Ukraine has grown stronger, stabilized the front line, and expanded its LONG-RANGE strike capabilities. Meanwhile, Trump has grown weaker.

His unique talent for doing business in a way that makes everyone hate him has produced predictable consequences. The old ape is heading toward electoral defeat, and even his temporary allies understand that.

All those he humiliated at the height of his power are lining up to settle scores when he falls.

And now Trump can no longer afford to openly admit that he is harming Ukraine. Instead, Trump and Musk are SHIFTING BLAME onto each other over the alleged Starlink sabotage, while inventing excuses about Ukraine supposedly violating agreements.

The American public still supports Ukraine, and that support is not fading. On the contrary, it appears to be growing as this Great American Clusterf#ck and technofascist Musk continue their antics.

I understand how desperately they want to control the world and buy governments, just as Musk is accused of trying to buy influence over American elections.

But they will NOT get their way!

If you've ever wondered why smart TVs are so cheap, this is why.

@log4j rooted his Samsung and found an always-on hot mic, automatic content recognition, geolocation, network mapping, ad targeting and user profiling, shared with Samsung's "400 partners".

A lot of it can be blocked in <15 min, wrote a basic guide below.

What your TV is doing

The main culprit is ACR (automatic content recognition). Your TV screenshots what's on screen, fingerprints it, and sends it home to build your ad profile. Samsung does it every 500ms, LG every 10ms [1].

What is insane: it happens on connected devices too.
Plug in your laptop, your console, your work machine, and your TV can fingerprint that via HDMI [1].
He also found that if your Samsung doesn't have a mic, it'll look for one from a connected soundbar or bluetooth device.

It's on by default, and you likely agreed to it on the setup screen you clicked through in 10 seconds.

Step 1: Turn off ACR

Samsung: Terms & Privacy → Viewing Information Services
LG: Live Plus
Vizio: Viewing Data
Roku: "Use info from TV inputs"
Sony/Google TV: Samba Interactive TV

Menus vary by model, but those are the names to look for. While you're in there, opt out of interest-based ads, reset your advertising ID, decline every optional privacy agreement, turn off voice recognition, and delete apps you never open.

Step 2: Give smart devices their own network

Put the TV, cameras, speakers and vacuum on your router's guest/IoT network. The logic is simple: these devices rarely get patched. If one gets compromised (getting drastically more frequent with AI), it shouldn't be able to see your other devices or home network.

Step 3: Block trackers for the whole house with DNS-level filtering

NextDNS (cloud-based) is easy and has a solid free plan. Pi-hole is a little bit more work if you prefer self hosting. For simplicity we'll focus on the former.

2. Privacy tab: add a blocklist (OISD is a good bet) and turn on Native Tracking Protection for Samsung, LG, Roku, Amazon (see attached image)
3. Setup tab: copy your endpoint
4. Paste it into your router's DNS settings as DNS-over-HTTPS/TLS (or use the IPs + "Link IP" if your router only does plain DNS)
5. Bonus: block outbound port 53 except to your router. Some devices hardcode their own DNS to get around you

Then open the NextDNS logs and watch how often your TV phones home. It's eye-opening. If an app or update breaks, find the domain in the logs and allowlist it.

Why they do this

TV prices are down 97% since 2000 [2]. Most of that is better manufacturing and brutal competition. But once margins on the hardware hit zero, the cost moved to you.

In Q3 2024, Vizio lost $6.7M selling TVs and made $115.8M in gross profit from ads and viewing data [3]. They've said on earnings calls that they keep TV prices low to grow the audience they sell to advertisers. Walmart bought them in 2024.

This isn't a conspiracy theory either. Vizio paid $2.2M to the FTC in 2017 for tracking 11 million TVs without consent. Last December, Texas sued Samsung, LG, Sony, Hisense and TCL over ACR. Samsung and LG have since agreed to stop collecting that data without explicit consent [4].

Ich hatte jetzt Zeit das komplett zu lesen. Elon hat sich mit den Geschehnissen und Äußerungen in den letzten Tagen heftig in die Nesseln gesetzt, die weitreichende Konsequenzen haben könnten.

„Der Ständige Untersuchungsausschuss (des US Senats) leitet eine Untersuchung zu den Beziehungen der US-Regierung zur Technologie von SpaceX – einschließlich der Satellitendienste von Starlink sowie Starshield – und deren Nutzung durch die Regierung ein.“

Klingt harmlos, ist es aber nicht.

Die Limitierungen von Starlink/Starshield in UA sind zwar der Auslöser für Untersuchungen sowohl durch den Senat als auch durch das House, aber hier geht es aus US Sicht um etwas viel Grösseres und Entscheidenderes:

War es in irgend einer Form möglich, dass eine Privatperson / privates Unternehmen selbst-entscheidend maßgeblich in die Nationalen Sicherheitsinteressen des USA oder ihre Außenpolitik einzugreifen?

Wenn es eine Sache gibt, wo US Senat und Congress überhaupt keinen Spaß verstehen, dann ist es genau das. Und zwar über alle politischen Lager hinweg. Die Demokraten mögen da aktuell zwar lauter sein als die Republikaner, das liegt aber daran, daß wir 10 Tage vor einer entscheidenden Wahl stehen, und dass die meisten Abgeordneten und Senatoren sich in ihren Wahlkreisen im Wahlkampf befinden. Und daß die Republikaner aktuell kein Interesse daran haben, daß das Thema öffentlich zu weit hoch kocht, weil es natürlich auch die Trump Admin betrifft, und ein möglicher Nationaler Sicherheitsskandal das Letzte ist, was sie jetzt gerade noch gebrauchen können.

Spannend wird es nach der Wahl, und zwar völlig unabhängig davon, wer die Mehrheit in House und Senat erlangt. Die meisten Congress Abgeordneten hatten bisher nicht die Zeit, sich aufgrund ihres vollen Wahlkampfkalenders mit dem Thema auseinanderzusetzen. Wenn nach der Wahl aber die Brisanz des Themas durchdringt, könnte das sehr ungemütlich für Musk, Space X und die Trump Admin werden.

Ich gehe weiterhin davon aus, daß die Entscheidung letztlich aus dem Pentagon und WH kam. Die Äußerungen von Elon in den letzten Tagen lassen daran aber zweifeln. Die Trump Admin hat zwar das Recht solche Entscheidungen grundsätzlich eigenständig zu fällen, sie ist aber auch verpflichtet den US Congress, zumindest bestimmte Gremien, über solche Entscheidungen im Vorfeld zu informieren.

Sowohl die UA Regierung, als auch die entscheidenden Stellen des US Congress und Senat wussten davon laut eigenen Aussagen aber nichts, und Trump tut so, als hätte er davon ebenfalls nichts gewusst. — Hier wird es jetzt spannend.

Wenn man genau hinsieht, deckt Musk offensichtlich aktuell Trump bei dem ganzen Thema. Durch seine ungeschickten öffentlichen Aussagen, die mehr Zweifel als Aufklärung in der Sache aufkommen lassen, wie es zu den Einschränkungen von Starlink /Starshield in UA kommen konnte, und wer dafür verantwortlich ist, gepaart von öffentlichen politischen emotionalen Meltdowns auf X, tut er sich keinen gefallen. Auch Aktionäre von Space X und andere Stake-Holder wie staatliche Kunden, insbesondere aus Europa und Asien haben da ein genaues Auge drauf.

Warum verhält sich Elon so? Laut aktuellen Zahlen hat er mehr als $442 Mio. in den aktuellen Wahlkampf der Reps in den USA investiert. Insb. in den Wahlkampf eines Rep. Kandidaten für den US Senat aus Texas. Das Rennen ist knapp. Für Musk und Space X hängt viel davon ab. Hier geht es um Expansion, Neu-Bau, Raketen Startgenehmigungen, Umweltauflagen, Freigabe von Gebieten als Bauland usw.

Wenn die Wahl entschieden ist, wird sich vieles ändern. Dann werden Musk und Trump gegenseitig mit dem Finger aufeinander zeigen, und jeder seine eigenen Interessen vertreten, die dann nicht mehr gleich liegen.

Sollte bei der Untersuchung herauskommen, dass Elon eigenständig gehandelt hat, dann wird er die volle Härte des US Congress zu spüren bekommen. Dann ist Schluss mit lustig. Wenn es in den USA um nationale Sicherheitsinteressen geht, hört der Spaß definitiv auf.

A pergunta que o consumia era por que a revolução não vinha onde deveria vir. Venceu na Rússia agrária. Fracassou na Alemanha, na Hungria, na Itália.

Depois da morte dele, venceu na China camponesa, no Vietnã, em Cuba e em nenhuma sociedade ocidental madura.

Havia algo no Ocidente que repelia o golpe. A resposta dele foi que, atrás do Estado, existia uma linha de fortificações:

Escolas, imprensa, associações, famílias e, sobretudo, igrejas.

Marx tratou a religião como ópio, um sintoma a ser dissolvido. Gramsci tratou-a como fortificação, uma posição a ser tomada. Chamou isso de hegemonia:

O consentimento que se fabrica antes de qualquer voto, no terreno daquilo que as pessoas simplesmente consideram óbvio.

O camponês italiano não se revoltava não porque estivesse satisfeito, mas porque possuía uma ordem de sentido que explicava o mundo, a dor e a morte melhor do que qualquer panfleto. Enquanto essa ordem se transmitisse de pais para filhos, não havia revolução possível.

…タイのアヌティン首相は内務大臣兼任で、当初はラビグループと上手くやっているように見えましたが、プーケットのハバドハウス(ラビ夫婦経営が普通でイスラエル人向けレストラン兼宗教施設)オーナーのラビが「ここはイスラエルの領土だ！」とタイ警察覆面捜査官を追い返したことに「タイ超上級国民」が激怒し、それに倣ってアヌティン首相は内務省に徹底捜査を命じ、ラビグループの国籍剥奪等が検討されるに至った、ということらしいです。

タイのアナウンサーやコメンテーターがすごく慎重に喋っている時、私は「ああ、権力者絡みだな」と判断することにしています。今年2月8日に行われたタイ総選挙でも、事前調査結果により得票首位を期待された王室改革を党是とする人民党は次点に留まり、王室派のアヌティン首相率いるタイ誇り党が政権党となったという、率直には書きにくい経緯があります。

日本でも「タイ上級国民」を悪しざまに罵っていた日本人ミャンマー民主派グループが、ある時期からピタっと罵るのを止めたということがあったので、「何かあるな」と察したことがあります。その後ミャンマー財閥スターサファイアグループ総帥にして武器商人トゥン・ミン・ラットがバンコクで麻薬密売及び資金洗浄容疑で逮捕され、タイ民主派の厳しい追及にも関わらず超法規的に不起訴になり、おおまかな事情は察しました。

在タイラビグループ問題から話が逸れましたが、タイへの投資は価値がある、と無難にまとめることにします。こういうことを書いているからアカウント凍結対象になるのかもしれません。

これ知らない人マジで多い

漢方薬の約7割に含まれてる「甘草（かんぞう）」の主成分グリチルリチンが問題の核心。こいつが腎臓の11β-HSD2という酵素を阻害して、ナトリウム再吸収↑×カリウム排泄↑を引き起こす。結果として偽アルドステロン症→低カリウム血症・血圧上昇・浮腫が発生する

厚労省の重篤副作用マニュアルにも明記されていて、甘草1日2.5g以上でリスクが上がり始め、5g以上は明確にハイリスク。WHOの安全上限はグリチルリチン100mg/日

怖いのは漢方の複数処方。例えば葛根湯（甘草2g）＋芍薬甘草湯（甘草6g）を同時に飲むと甘草だけで8g/日。これを「漢方だから安全」と思って続ける人がいる。実際に過去5年間で偽アルドステロン症関連の副作用報告が48件出ている

しかも甘草はサプリや甘味料にも入ってる。漢方＋グリチルリチン含有食品の合算で閾値を超えるケースもある。スキンケアでもグリチルリチン酸2Kは抗炎症成分として頻出するが、経皮吸収量は微量なのでこちらは問題ない

漢方を飲んでる人は処方箋の甘草含有量を確認して、複数飲んでるなら合計量を医師か薬剤師に聞くべき。特に高齢者・女性・腎機能低下がある人はリスクが跳ね上がる

3090 Ti 和 A6000 是同一块芯片。

区别在卡里的一个标志位。
一个写着 FULL_SPEED，一个写着 HALF_SPEED。

Reddit 上有个哥们翻了很多代码，把这事讲明白了。

英伟达从 20 系到 50 系的游戏卡，FP16、BF16 做矩阵乘再用 FP32 累加，这条路径的速度都被砍了一半。
40 系和 50 系连 FP8 也砍了。
专业卡和数据中心卡都是全速。

被砍的刚好是 AI 最吃算力的那几块：
训练、微调 LoRA
文生图、文生视频这类扩散模型
大模型的 prefill，就是读长 prompt 那一步

一个人跟模型聊天、一个字一个字往外吐，基本没影响，那一步主要卡显存带宽。

这个哥们说，他的 RTX 6000 PRO 核心数只比 5090 多 10-15%，prefill 却快了 70% 左右。

GitHub 上已经有人把 30 系解锁了，800 多星。
做法是一个 Linux 内核模块，开机时抢在 NVIDIA 驱动接管之前，把速度选择器改掉。
3090 Ti 实测 BF16 从 87.5 TFLOPS 到 157.4，TF32 差不多翻倍。

40 系有人在 Windows 上跑通了 AD103，还得往别的型号移植。
50 系就难了，英伟达加了熔丝，专门读这个标志位。
有意思的是 50 系的 FP4 没被砍。

我觉得这事最值得琢磨的是定价。
同样的硅，同样的制造成本，价格差好几倍，差的是一个配置位。
特斯拉早年也这么干过，同一块电池用软件锁一截续航，加钱解锁。
卖硬件卖到最后，利润都在那个开关上。

原帖说解锁没风险，因为本来就是同一块 die。
我觉得保修和稳定性还是自己掂量一下。

看完突然觉得我那块吃灰的 3090 这几年一直在摸鱼。
而且是老板安排它摸的。
