Today at @TheBitcoinConf, @MARA CEO @fgthiel announced the launch of MARA Foundation.
The MARA Foundation represents MARA’s strategic commitment to supporting the health of the Bitcoin network, outside of our responsibilities as miners alone.
We believe Bitcoin embodies the most powerful tool for financial sovereignty, economic resilience, and human freedom in the world. As such, we commit ourselves to:
- Protecting the core properties that make Bitcoin sound, durable money, and
- Advocating for the free and fair use of this technology for 8 billion people around the world
We humbly devote ourselves to the following pursuits:
- Ensure Bitcoin’s ongoing security budget—and, in particular, support the development of a robust and healthy fee market for Bitcoin transactions.
- Harden Bitcoin against potential security threats—including, but not limited to, those posed by advancements in quantum computing.
- Expand access to self-custodial Bitcoin and support those using Bitcoin in the pursuit of financial sovereignty.
- Support the free and open-source development of Bitcoin technologies—including but not limited to scaling, mining, and critical user infrastructure.
Additionally, we intend to develop educational resources and initiatives to inform Bitcoin users and builders alike—including, but not limited to:
- Technical and developer education
- Multi-lingual Bitcoin education
- Advocacy for financial freedom technologies
- Education for policy makers and activists
Moving forward, we’ll be using this account to share critical research, educational content, and diverse points of view by leaders throughout the space.

If the President does not assent to a Bill or refer it back within the period prescribed, the Bill shall be taken to have been assented to on the expiry of that period. It is my interpretation that the Bill is WITHDRAWN and since it was an amendment Bill, it DIES!
In US, they call it the 5th Amendment; in Kenya, it is Article 49 of The Constitution .. This is a right of an arrested person not to cooperate with the Police. An arrested Person has Constitutional Right NOT TO SPEAK or give any information to the Police when you arrested … And Police, whether in uniform or civilian cannot seize your property (car, computer, phone et al) without Court Warrants. Without number, High Court has quashed evidence that was procured in violation of Article 49. Knowledge is Power. If arrested, don’t speak. Sing Hymns or Reggae songs instead.
Gen Z's are now walking up to the pulpit to ask their pastors to declare their stand on the Finance Bill 2024. They will not believe. They will not believe.
Very proud of our friends doing the lords work on the clock app, @KIMANIICHUNGWAH you said we don't know the contents of the bill?
#RejectFinanceBill2024
They will not believe it....They will not believe it... ..They will not believe it ...Gen Z wameamua by air, by road, by rail and by water #RejectFinanceBill2024. They will not believe it folks!
Young Kenyans who wish to do animal and plant agriculture as a source of income, here are possible resources for you, and I can guarantee the officers in these facilities will be of help:
1. For fish rearing, processing, and value addition, including selecting quality feeds and fingerings, talk to Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute @KmfriResearch https://t.co/WQFTxRdiqB. They have stations in Sagana, Naivasha, Mombasa and other stations serving the country.
2. For goat and bovine semen, that is well acclimatized for Kenya. Talk to @KAGRC_KE https://t.co/PKRwbvbrqN. By the way, not all import semen is for breeds that make sense in Kenya. There is no point in importing a pure Holstein to a tropical environment that is low on feed resources and high disease incidence (story for another day).
3. For rabbits, all breeds: Hybrid rabbits include New Zealand White, California White, and Flemish Giant and their crosses. talk to the National Rabbits Breeding Centre Ngong FTC and Veterinary Farm are under the Livestock Department, and you can call them at +254 0733782096.
4. For beef and dairy cattle, indigenous and improved poultry, beekeeping and new tech talk to KALRO @kalromkulima https://t.co/VaKvcUNCsp. Do not fear them; go to their offices and stations and request help, and you can be sure they will help you.
5. For fruit trees, if you are in Mt Kenya Region, go to @DiscoverJKUAT; if you are in counties surrounding Machakos (ASALs), visit https://t.co/55WKAHdCVd Katumani. KALRO also has other Rift Valley and Western/Nyanza centers.
6. When I visited the Perkerra Irrigation Scheme at Marigat, they had some highland rice that didn't need a lot of water and some nice fruiting tree seedlings, including pawpaws, peaches, etc. I am not sure whether they still have that rice variety, but you can reach out to them @Irrigation_Auth
7. For youngsters who want to do training for diplomas and short-term certs in animal health and affiliated courses, dairy tech visit @AhitiKabete and Dairy Training Institute Naivasha [email protected] respectively.
8. For biological plant pest management, visit @icipe. They have some very nice pest management methods for crops.
Social media has a lot of young men and women doing wonderful stuff, talk to them when you can and learn from each other.
For animal nutrition purposes, talk to graduate students from our universities @egertonunikenya@DiscoverJKUAT@uonbi@KenyattaUni@EmbuUniversity among others (please be generous in your renumeration for services rendered and give them feedback on what to improve on).
