Linda Mwananchi is facing an early credibility test.

A movement cannot claim to defend ordinary Kenyans while operating as a political shelter for familiar elites seeking relevance before 2027. The inclusion of Aisha Jumwa deepens that contradiction and raises legitimate questions about the standards guiding the movement.

Opposition to Ruto is not, by itself, a political ideology. Removing one leader without confronting corruption, unemployment, police brutality, inequality and institutional capture would only replace the managers of the same broken system.

The real question is not how many prominent politicians Linda Mwananchi can assemble, but what concrete programme it offers Kenyans. How will it create jobs, protect public resources, reform the police and prevent the next government from repeating the same abuses?

Without clear principles, accountable leadership and measurable policies, “Linda Mwananchi” risks becoming another election slogan designed to mobilize public anger while preserving elite interests.

Kenyans do not need Aisha Jumwa and other political survivors repackaged as change. They need a movement capable of changing the system—not merely inheriting it. Wacheni hii mchezo yenu.@orengo_james @edwinsifuna
