Day 1 of learning Python 🐍

Complete beginner here, coming from a biology background. Just wrote my first lines of code today Nervous but excited.

Many students who learn English as a foreign language have a hard time using punctuation marks correctly.

Here's a simple guide to help you with punctuation marks:

1. Comma ,

A comma is used:

Before "and, but, or, so, yet" when they connect two independent clauses, e.g., It was raining, and I was carrying an umbrella.

Around extra information, e.g., My friend, who lives next door, invited me to party.

After introductory phrases, e.g. After the game, he went home.

2. Semi colon ;

A semicolon is used instead of a comma and a coordinating conjunction (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so — remember FANBOYS)

Instead of:
I like coffee, but I don't drink it every day.

you can write:
I like coffee; I don't drink it every day.

3. Colon :

Used to introduce lists.

My paper focuses on three themes: nationalism, religion, and literature.

4. Apostrophe '

Used in contractions like Don't, Can't, etc.

Also used for possession. Pay attention to singular and plural nouns.

The boy's desk (singlular).

For pluran nouns, the apostrophe comes after "s."
The teachers' cafeteria.

5. Quotation marks (Double and single)

Double quotation marks are used for direct quotes.

He argues, "Translation in not a neutral affair."

Single quote marks are used for a quote within a quote.

He said, "The term 'world literature' is difficult to define."

6. Hyphen -

Used to create compound adjectives like well-known, well-paid, etc. when the come before a noun, e.g., a well-known scholar, a well-paid job.

7. En dash –

Used mainly for ranges

Monday–Friday
pages 36–49

8. Em dash —

Very versatile punctuation mark.

Used to add extra information or interruption.

The result is clear—we need to revise our research methodology.

Also, used in place of commas and colon.

میری بیٹی انتہائی شرارتی تھی مجھے اپنی بیٹی کا پتا ہے کہ وہ اپنی جان دے سکتی ہے لیکن کسی کے قابو نہیں آسکتی یہ الفاظ مریم مسیح کی والدہ ہیں اس پھول کو پرسوں جمعہ کی نماز کے بعد درندگی کا نشانہ بنا کر جان سے مار دیا گیا ۔

ماں تو ماں ہوتی ہے جب بیٹی 20 روپے لے کر سامنے ریڑھی سے چپس لینے گئی تو ماں کو فوراً علم ہوگیا کہ اس کی بیٹی کے ساتھ کچھ ہورہا ہے ۔
وہ پاگلوں کی طرح باہر بھاگی لوگوں سے پوچھ رہی تھی کہ میری بیٹی کو دیکھا لیکن افسوس بچی کو ایک درندہ صفت لڑکے نے جمعہ کا وقت دیکھ کر اس کو اغواء کر لیا
لڑکا اور کوئی نہیں ان کے سامنے گھر والا تھا ۔۔۔۔۔ بچی کو ڈھونڈتے رہے لیکن نہ ملی
پورا محلہ ڈھونڈ رہا تھا اس نے لڑکے بچی کے منہ میں اس کا ہی سکارف ڈالا اور اس کی گردن کاٹ ڈالی اس کے بعد اس کی نسیں کاٹیں اپنی ہوس پوری کی اور پھر وہاں سے نکل آیا

اس کے بعد وہ بچی کو ڈھونڈواتا رہا اس مکان کی طرف لے کر نہیں جا رہا تھا جہاں بچی کی زندگی ختم کی ۔
جب وہ لڑکا موقع سے غائب ہوا تو سب کو شک گزرا ایک عورت بولی میں نے بچی کو اس کے ساتھ جاتے دیکھا تھا بچی کی والدہ پولیس اسٹیشن پہنچی تو پولیس والوں نے اس کو دروازہ پہ بھی بٹھائے رکھا ۔۔۔۔۔ کہنے لگے فارم ب لاؤ ۔۔۔۔۔ یہاں ماں پاگل ہورہی تھی ۔
آخر کار بچی مل گئی لیکن وہ شوخ شرارتی بچی اس دنیا سے جاچکی تھی ۔۔۔۔۔ بچی کی والدہ نے ایک سوال کیا ہم ہمیشہ سے آپ سب مسلمانوں کے واش روم دھوتے آۓ ہیں لیکن افسوس ان ہی مسلمانوں نے میری بچی کی عزت لوٹ کر رمضان کے مہینہ میں مار ڈالا ۔

جب ایف آئی آر سامنے آئی ہے تو بچی کا نام نہیں لکھا جارہا لڑکا جب گرفتار ہوگیا ہے تو اس کو سامنے نہیں لایا جارہا اس کو نامعلوم لکھا گیا ہے ۔

پلیز مریم نواز نوٹس لیں یہ کیس سی سی ڈی کو ریفر کریں جب لڑکے نے مان لیا کہ اس نے یہ سب کیا ہے تو پھر دیر کیسی ؟

کیا آپ سب ایک مسیح بیٹی کے لیئے آواز اٹھائیں گے ؟ اس وقت آپ سب کے ایمان کا معاملہ ہے ایف آئی آر پہلے کومنٹ میں لگا دی ہے

@doctorasmazafar @suman373 @faizannriaz Exactly they didn't learn about Islam and just trusted rumors...Muslims follow Islam but every Muslim is not a true representative of Islam everyone has defects in following Islam so learn about religion first..
