when my grandpa committed suicide no one could understand it for a number of reasons. he had spent 7 years battling alcohol addiction and when he was “finally actually well”, he did it. he spent years on the couch, at the sink heaving talking about feeling like he was dying, or arguing with everyone closest to him, he stopped doing anything. he spent a few months getting help the year he died. he came back & his friend John would pick him up every morning and they’d spend the whole day working together. then one morning he told my grandma he loved her, went outside like any other day, and a few moments later she heard the shot. people seem like they’re okay because they don’t want to worry anyone and they don’t want anyone to stop them. there’s no cries for help because they don’t want it and that’s the saddest thing to me. John died 2 weeks later at age 58 and his wife thinks it was too much for his brain to handle, he’d had a stroke in their store

This is horrifying. When I told my fiance that I was pregnant he was ecstatic to be a father. Like he works full time and handled just about everything for Me. And then when we lost her he took care of me through the whole thing, while my body recovered, while also grieving her.
