Had a caddie today for the first time in my life playing at the Royal Cape in South Africa. It was really cool experience and definitely helped on the greens. And after every shot I messed up, though, he’d shoot one too and say “just do that next time”.
It’s funny how sometimes the most unremarkable places can hold such a special place in your heart. I haven’t been to this place in over a decade but when I was a kid I was here every single week during the summer.
Sitting in the dugout had me thinking about my dad. This is the place where I learned about team work. It’s where I learned how to win but it’s also where I learned how to lose. Life lessons disguised as little league baseball. He was there for it all.
