Yesterday students were attacked, today ID card carrying students were prevented from entering their own campus and detained.

Staff of Jamia Millia Islamia were seen vandalising the students’ protest site in an attempt to evacuate the hunger strikers. In response, students formed a human chain inside the campus to shield them.

The students have been on a sit-in protest and hunger strike demanding the restoration of the Jamia Millia Islamia Students’ Union (JMISU), which the university has not had for over two decades.

What great precautions! Delivery guys are not allowed inside the campus, the hostel caretaker is telling us not to step outside,and the entire campus is surrounded by police.
