@ktsokanos I think I remember the peripheral ads more than central. This is probably because they tell a story that can be funny or draw emotion. I think I am more likely to buy something from a central ad, if it tells me a lot of information about the product and I'm interested! #uwj201
@collinrichter6 I also think it can be invasive and sometimes too far. However, there have been times that it suggested a product to me that I was interested in that was better than what I had been searching. #uwj201
@LSzyryj I think when I seek out news, those sources rarely are feeding me fake news. When I come across news stories with clickbait titles or sponsored news links on social media, those often end up being exaggerated or fake news. #UWJ201
@marlee_reischl I think I will. Often if I saw news on social media I would follow up on it and search for more information from a more reliable source. Now especially, after lecture I feel more inclined to seek out credible news sources. #UWJ201
Do you think negative reporting against your side discourages you or encourages you in partaking in politics? Do you believe negative reporting against your side? #uwj201
@jamij22 I would say voters shouldn't rely on polls because polls are often biased. If there is a poll on Fox it is more than likely going to favor the conservative, and vice versa on MSNBC
#UWJ201
@ZVerdoorn @ATveleneva I think we need fact checkers to create a trust in media, if they never provided evidence, there would be no trust in media. #UWJ201
@tristoncarrow I think it does because it is provoking, it makes you want to voice your opinion even if it doesn't agree with the opinion of the article. #uwj201
@harrynivloc I think they should report the ultimate truth so that the audience can decide their opinion on it. I think there are places for them to have and show their opinions, for example in op eds, but otherwise they should try to report the truth. #uwj201
@parisboswell I think it creates more awareness, but doesn't educate people. social media posts are short and exaggerative. Usually they can be very polarizing, I think once made aware of an issue by social media someone should go further educate themselves through outside sources. #uwj201
@meln1jess1 I think there will always be corruption in politics, but proper journalism helps to reduce that by holding authority and politicians accountable by informing citizens. #uwj201
@GavinSchopf I think journalism now leans much more towards supplying activism and conflict, because that sells more than reciprocity and dialogue. That is good in the fact that it involves more people in politics, however it is quite polarizing. #uwj201
@KuskowskiAli Personally, I refrain from political conversations because I avoid conflict in general. But I often listen when friends are having political conversations. I think it is greatly beneficial to just step back and listen, and think about each point brought up. #UWJ201
@ABalko3238 I'm more reserved in general while so many of my friends and family are more assertive when it comes to expressing their views. I tend to be quiet and listen to everyone. It makes it hard for those who don't enjoy the hostility, to contribute to conversations. #UWJ201
Do you think your views change or shift depending on who you are talking with? Do you engage in political conversation more, when with people who share your same political views? #UWJ201
@SAhern43 I think it is true. Many of us only want to be "right", and we fail to look at information from both sides. This creates more polarization. #uwj201
