My biggest boomer take is WHY ARE THERE APPS FOR EVERYTHING?????
Like why are you redirecting me from your website to an app just to buy one thing? I’m no longer interested.
@RevRichardColes @SalPSpecial Completely agree. There is also an alternative in this kind of situation to play royalty-free music which is pretty easily findable these days
I am a medical doctor in the UK
We already have assisted dying: it js called palliative care
What they are trying to introduce is assisted SUICIDE
This is fundamentally at odds with the medical profession.
Well - the entire crew of season two of #AdamRichmanEatsBritain has just been robbed. We were driving from Birmingham to London, stopped at a rest, stop in Barnet for exactly 4 1/2 minutes to use the restroom, and came back to our van completely cleaned out.
All of the filming equipment is gone.
Both of my suitcases with all of my possessions are gone.
Backpack with my laptop and all of my medications are gone .
And to make matters worse, because I have trackers on some of my possessions, and because of my laptop, I can see where these things are. But we have to wait here for the police. The rest stop won’t release the security footage until the police arrive.
It’s been almost an hour.
I’m going to share a few of the locations where I can see my possessions.
Reward for anything found.
Many are heading off to University Open Days at the moment here's a few starters on costs , marketing and more (feel free to add yours)...
1) If a big name Professor is speaking - ask 'what are your contact hours with undergraduates' some only do research and are just wheeled out for the day to be in the shop window.
2) Accommodation costs are more important these days. Student maintenance loans have not kept up with inflation (Eng) and most students don't get the full loan (parents are expected to fill some of the gap). So while tuition fees are standard, what really counts if ongoing cost of living.
3) If they tell you about well-known alumni, check what course they did, some spread their famous former students reps widely.
4) Find out what's actually taught and how its taught. If it's a practical course make sure you see the labs and the studios and ask what access you'll have.
Overall, don't be afraid to ask questions. This isn't school, it's a sales pitch. Speak to existing students on the course if you can, for an honest appraisal.
As a Pensioner I receive around £800 a month pension, I own my own home and do not claim any benefits so I will not get any winter fuel payment yet junior doctors are getting an eye watering 22% over 2 yrs payrise, so not only can I not see a doctor I'm paying more for them
Boring is what puts your food on the shelves. Logistics is fucking boring
Boring is what keeps your gas bills low, and your ambulances running and your rivers free of shit, and your old people appropriately cared for, and your communities safe
Boring is good.
Bring back boring.
