NOTICE: Uganda remains safe, open and welcoming for tourism, business and investment amidst Ebola cases linked to the Democratic Republic of Congo.
We urge travellers and tourism practitioners to continue observing standard hygiene practices including regular handwashing while enjoying Uganda's diversity.

Video; With every passing day, this guy @kasujja makes Ugandans question what former Uganda Media Centre boss Ofwono Opondo was really doing in that office.😂😂🤦🏾♂️
The most characteristic thing about most Basoga, & I speak as a Musoga, is how unhelpful they're to fellow Basoga! The exception to that is @RebeccaKadagaUG . She is helpful to us. Why to me her win is my win! Congrats mama. I pray for your good health & happiness, as you serve us. @hellenaholga09 for standing with her always, thanks.

Denzel in Man on Fire isn’t acting. Bro became vengeance itself.
That ‘forgiveness is between them and God’ scene? Coldest shit ever put on film.
This movie ruined ‘dad movie’ for every other actor.
🎬🎥 Man On Fire 🔥❤️
Hey @DouglasLwangaUg, a ministry is basically run by TWO sides:
• The political leaders (Ministers)
• The technical professionals (Permanent Secretaries, Directors, experts, engineers, accountants etc.)
For example in the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance:
• The Minister is the political head. They give direction, represent the ministry in Cabinet and Parliament, and make policy decisions.
• The Permanent Secretary (PS) is the technical/administrative boss who runs daily operations and supervises staff.
So the minister is not expected to personally know how to code, build systems or do all technical work. Their job is leadership, coordination, decision-making and learning from experts below them.
That is why someone can lead ICT ministry even without an ICT background - as long as they can learn, listen and manage people well.
Difference between the two:
• Cabinet Minister = the main minister of the ministry
• State Minister = assistant/deputy minister helping handle specific sectors
Example:
• Minister of Education = overall boss politically
• State Minister for Primary Education = assists in that specific area
And no, a minister’s role is not minor. Even though it is administrative, their decisions affect budgets, policies and a single signature from a minister can activate or deactivate a national project worth billions.
I hope this helps bwana.
Deploying journalists anywhere in the East DRC by an international organisation requires thorough risk assessment. Because it’s restive- and has been for a while.
Throw in Ebola?
No right thinking editor sitting in London or New York would want to take that chance…
A Congolese man seeking treatment in Kampala dies of Ebola?
Oh my!
Uganda is plan B.
No risk.
Easy deployment.
Easy logistics.
Easier story to tell.
Problem is, Uganda isn’t the story.
Can they still turn it into a story?
With some effort.
But we won’t allow it. To say that there’s Ebola in Uganda has far reaching implications.
