That is not “direct poison”. It’s the egg’s membrane. In fact, there are 2 membranes - one that is attached to the inside of the shell and one wrapped around the egg white. It offers additional protection against microbial attack in case there is a crack in the shell.
Fun fact: it’s not only edible, it’s made of collagen, and many collagen supplements are made from this membrane.
Even more fun fact: in very fresh eggs, the membrane sticks to the egg white and is harder to remove. As the egg gets older, the membrane is easier to remove from the boiled egg.
The egg is one of nature’s most accomplished works. A single, self-contained marvel, packed with every protein the body craves, brimming with vitamins and fats laid down to nourish new life. And yet, in the modern poultry farming context, IT IS PURELY VEGETARIAN because an unfertilised egg hosts no life, just the raw material to nourish it. Cracked into a hot pan, it firms into culinary gold. Whipped, it rises into airy clouds. Coddled, poached, folded into the silkiest of custards, or scrambled into bhurji, it bends endlessly to the cook’s will. Few things on this Earth give so generously, in so many guises. This, surely, is perfection in miniature. The greatest single ingredient in the kitchen.

Would T9 let T1 choose first, when even deciding to bat or bowl could give them a slim chance?
If T9 wins the toss, they’d just want to choose—without giving up runs.
To them, BID might feel unfair unless there's a safeguard for weaker teams.
@AshwinR94@himsawhney@ICC @ESPNcricinfo @cricbuzz@WisdenCricket Part 4/5
Now say BID comes into play. Is it really fair to all teams? Imagine a top team vs a much lower one (T1 vs T9).
Will T9 accept a deficit just to choose first—knowing they’d need a once-in-a-lifetime performance just to match T1’s total?

Here’s the data I’d like to see:
Toss impact by format (Tests/ODIs/T20s)
Toss impact in ICC tournaments
Venues where toss is more critical
Day vs day-night game outcomes
This would help assess fairness better.
@AshwinR94@himsawhney@ICC @ESPNcricinfo @cricbuzz@WisdenCricket Part 2/5
Which makes me think that for advocating any change, it must truly make the game better or fairer. And to judge fairness, we need to look at data—how the toss has affected outcomes of crucial matches over the years between well-balanced teams.
@AshwinR94@himsawhney@ICC @ESPNcricinfo @cricbuzz@WisdenCricket Part 1/5
The problem with this idea is that it’s radically different and needs more scrutiny. We can try it in domestic tournaments/lower leagues, but then points in BID’s favour—like viewer engagement, commercial potential & expert analysis—seem less lucrativ
@beedu_ Exactly what I have been saying. What a collosal waste of energy getting offended on comedy shows which just mirrors the society. All this while the real issues to be offended by are swept under the carpet
@openletteryt These people are the real problem. They have to maintain their holier than thou image but in reality they have the most corrupt thoughts and actions. Such hypocrites
@SiddharthKG7 How much do you pay maids and drivers in your house? The salaries urban households pay to our maids and helpers is exploitation. How about you stop availing their services if you are so repulsed by them?
I woke up to no internet this morning.I have heard both sides of the argumemt by now, by some arguably highly accomplished advocates of their ideologies. Let me make that clear first, as I have noticed that... https://t.co/MaglfAxtjJ
