Imagine your lovely daughter comes home declaring she is trans and wants to go on testosterone and have her breasts removed. You plead with her to pause, wait and see how she feels in a year. Maybe you refuse financial support as you don't want to pay for this. Then she tells her school, uni, scout leader, priest or whoever. They report you to the police, you have your daughter taken into care and you could face up with five years in prison. It's not hypothetical, it's already happened in Canada, Aus, US and more. If you're not terrified by this you don't understand what's happening.

The actual thing they are trying to solve is how to legitimise the idea of adult transexualism as being an in born trait which requires extreme societal accommodation.

The actions of this Government are seriously disturbing and completely indefensible.

In the week they chose to carry out damaging medical experiments on children to stop their puberty, they also announced they want to imprison parents who don’t affirm a confused child’s delusion that they are in the ‘wrong body’.

Their Bill to end conversion therapy, will ensure that children who would otherwise be gay, or autistic, will now be hurried along the path to chemical castration and lifetime medical care.

Labour is now committed to its section 28 on steroids

Let’s remember: section 28 was a horrendous law that intimidated teachers and others, suppressed the dissemination of information about homosexuality.

It was homophobic and it was awful.
But it did not create a criminal offence.
It did not prescribe penalties.

The Labour Party’s draft bill to ban “conversion practices” is also homophobic. It also sets out to suppress the dissemination of information.

But it is far, far worse than section 28

It will criminalize a parent who says: “No, you’re a boy. Maybe you’re gay. That’s fine: Let’s get you some therapy to explore the causes of your distress.”

It will criminalize a parent who says “No, I refuse to pay for binders, blockers, testosterone. You’re a girl. It’s fine to be a lesbian.”

Such conversations may cause extreme distress. The minor may call them abusive.

We’re talking about a criminal offence of refusing to allow your child to take harmful drugs. Of suggesting she might be a lesbian - not a boy. Of refusing to go along with her insistent demands.

Let’s stop Labour’s Section 28!

We will not accept this latest iteration of anti gay and anti lesbian legislation - however well it is dressed up to look “progressive.”

🚨Breaking: The UK government has published a draft ‘Conversion Practices Bill’🚨

As expected, it is an utter nightmare. The fact that Stonewall is celebrating tells you everything you need to know.

On the week that it pushed forward with the puberty blockers trial, the government may now rob children of the opportunity to become comfortable in their own bodies.

It includes no exemption for parents. Parents who try to dissuade their children from ‘transitioning’ could be criminalised and put in prison for 5 years.

It further enshrines the notion of ‘transgender identity’ in the law and makes the offence ridiculously broad: “conduct causing someone to believe that they have or do not have a transgender identity”.

It further enshrines the notion of being ‘non-binary’ in the law.

The protection for therapists and other medical professionals is severely lacking, with a test of ‘reasonableness’ created. There is also a low threshold for what constitutes ‘abuse’.

Make no mistake about it, this Bill will criminalising talking. It poses a significant threat to freedom of speech, religious freedoms and to the safeguarding of vulnerable children.

It must not be allowed to become law.

@Sorelle_Arduino If she has coped with a baby moving around inside of her (I absolutely hated it, felt like I had an alien inside), she can cope with giving birth. Once she’s in labour and squeezing that baby out, I can guarantee “dysphoria” will be the last thing on her mind!
