People are very tired of this sort of disingenuous whataboutery — we all know that South Asian cultures have kinship based loyalties that often supersede the rule of law. Of course it’s about immigration and integration, stop insulting our intelligence.
What does “politicising” his death even mean? It’s intellectually lazy slop. What are we meant to do - not even bother to think about the context in which it happened and what we might do to stop it happening again? It is a GOOD thing for us to use this moment to look at what is going wrong with policing guidance and all the rest. That is the one positive thing we might be able to take from this appalling incident
Today, Baroness Stedman-Scott, responded to the Government’s statement on the long awaited EHRC Code of Practice calling for the Government to come clean on the changes it requested from the EHRC and commit to correcting errors in the Code.
It’s baffling to me that the few remaining normal people in Oxford and the other British universities don’t melt away in embarrassment at what these institutions have become.
Anyone involved with any of our universities knows that things are worse than even you might imagine.
Important post by Maurice. Carbon Budget 7 contains everything you feared about green policy. Restrictions on diet and travel and lifestyle to an extraordinary degree. If you ever wonder why British meat farming is suffering, that's because it's government policy.
Should there be basic competence tests for those wishing to sit as MPs? I fear this question kept recurring as I watched various honourable members rise to their feet to make legally illiterate, ignorant, & plain wrong points about the Code of Practice (CoP) in response to the Ministerial statement yesterday.

Labour folk accusing @Nigel_Farage and Reform of exploiting Henry Nowak's murder for political gain really need to take a long hard look in the mirror.
👏 This boy deserves a thank you.
After school, he heads to a Southend beach with a litter picker and sack, spending his free time clearing rubbish from the shoreline.
Every bag helps keep beaches cleaner and prevents rubbish ending up in the sea.
Southend BeachCare Group said: “Thank you to him for making a difference for our wonderful local beaches, keeping them litter free and stopping the rubbish going out into our precious seas.
“Please support him with likes and comments.”
Give it up Theresa. Your 'legacy' has been a liability. £192K in subsidies per year per job in wind and solar generation. You should hang your head in shame.
Imagine you are a dental hygienist and live in Sweden..
You are employed to help “migrant children” with their dental issues.
As part of your job you examine the wisdom teeth development of the kids and you notice that 80% of those “kids” have fully formed wisdom teeth, implying they are not kids at all but adults older than the age of 18.
You tell the Swedish Migration Agency and they advise you to put it in writing.
When you send exact details, with examples of specific patients you are suspended, investigated and fired for disclosing private information relating to patients.
This happened to Bernt Herlitz in 2017.
When he appealed the unfair dismissal he ultimately lost and was fined about $50,000.
He and his family faced financial hardship and almost lost their home, until some generous benefactors raised money for him. Bernt remains unemployed today, despite staff shortages for dentists in his area in Gotland.
At the time, Sweden scoffed at the tests and claimed they were “discriminatory” but since then they have quietly brought in mass dental testing, for those whose age is in doubt, by the National Board of Forensic Medicine.
Bernt deserves a medal. Not vilification and unemployment.
I thought Conservative policy was now to oppose Net Zero. Does Theresa May understand this?
As long as senior Tories post such support for Labour policy, it will continue to make observers wonder how firm the Tory commitment to scrap green energy madness really is.
As a disabled woman, you don't speak for me. If I need to undress, I do not want to share that space with a male. If I request same sex intimate care support, I do not want a man to provide it. Disabled women deserve dignity and privacy.
Totally fascinating clip. The 👀 that @Jonathan_Hinder gives Derbyshire, as she actively works to get him to describe ‘trans rights’ as a ‘middle class hobby horse’ - which would be quite a gotcha - followed by her disconcerted silence when he just says ‘men’ instead.
She knew exactly what he was thinking of, and he knew exactly what she was doing. But the work on renormalising natural language has paid off. A couple of years ago he would have had to say ‘trans’ in some form, or ‘gender’, to describe events. Now he can just say ‘men’ and the power of that language trickery drains away completely.
Theresa May put Net Zero into law to salvage her legacy.
She did so without a proper cost benefit analysis, while brushing aside her own Chancellor’s warning that the policy could cost more than £1 trillion. She pushed it through without proper parliamentary scrutiny and without seeking a mandate from the British electorate.
In doing so, she - along with Boris Johnson - did immense harm to the country. She left Britain more exposed to energy shocks, from Ukraine to Iran, while locking us into a policy framework that has raised energy costs and accelerated deindustrialisation amongst energy intensive industries.
Now she has reduced herself to acting as a megaphone for Green Blob advocacy campaigns, uncritically laundering their lobbying lines as independent economic analysis.
On the substance, the report she relies on does not prove anything like the claim she makes.
In short, ECIU/CBI Economics count everything they can attach to Net Zero, call the total "growth", then use that number to imply an industrial renaissance.
But, as @RianCFFWhitton previously noted on the 2025 study, how many people would seriously believe that the weekly shop of an SSE employee should count as evidence of Net Zero’s economic strength?
That is effectively what happens when they add induced employee spending to direct activity, then present the total as the value of the Net Zero economy.
Nowhere do the authors acknowledge the real industrial value Net Zero is destroying, from steel and petrochemicals to fertilisers.
As of 2025 the police force were told NOT to treat everyone the same. They were told NOT to be colour blind.
Two-tier policing is explicit in the 2025 Police Race Action Plan
