NBA discourse is crazy sometimes.
OKC won 2025 title, took Spurs to 7 without their 2nd + 3rd best offensive creators, and people act like they are at a major inflection point.
Do they have tough roster + $ questions?
Yes but 90% of NBA would love their roster + “problems”.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has already cemented his legacy as one of the greats:
4x All-Star
4x All-NBA
2025 NBA Champion
2025 Finals MVP
2x MVP
2025 WCF MVP
2025 Scoring Champ
2026 Clutch Player of the Year
Win, lose, or draw, he’s one of the greatest of this era. 💯
@RealSkipBayless Yes missing 2/3 of our top scorers from injury, but the officiating and the Spurs deliberate violence not being called was embarrassing. Also, correctly challenged 2 awful calls, and had none left. Terrible rule.
If OKC wasn’t so hated this entire app would be exploding over this clear & obvious one-sided ref show. Spurs can run out of bounds , travel , grab/squeeze anybody & whatever else they want to do.
Think it’s pretty obvious OKC would have won the series with healthy JDub and AJ, but that’s life. Part of any championship season is good luck in avoiding injuries.
Changes coming, and Chet needs to do some soul searching.
Watching OKC vs Spurs game 7 made me realize one thing:
I’ve seen Wemby try to flop for more contact than I’ve seen the entire OKC team.
But we don’t usually hear about do we? 🤔
@YahooSports The whingers and haters can’t seem to accept that OKC opposition should be called for fouls according to the rules… a deliberate elbow to the head is ok now?? Imagine if OKC did that to the Spurs???? 🤯🤯🤯
GAME 7: 🏀
The Spurs have figured something out: play dirty and take enough cheap shots, and it’s eventually called physical basketball.
Wemby has been ordering hits like he’s Gotti. The NBA & officials have refused to do anything about it.
Sadly, I think the #Thunder may have to lower themselves to that level to get a win tonight. I hate that this series devolved to this point, but you play in the environment you’re in, not the one you wish you had.

A year ago, the Thunder were the NBA's feel-good story ⚡
They were built, not bought. A homegrown contender led by a young core that genuinely looked like they enjoyed playing together.
They won at a historic pace, captured a championship, and became the blueprint every rebuilding team wanted to follow.
Fast forward one year, and the conversation sounds completely different.
The winning never stopped, but the praise did.
Critics point to the flopping. Opposing fanbases complain about the whistles. Every big win seems to spark another debate about officiating and whether the Thunder get favorable calls.
The script has flipped in record time.
From league darlings to public enemy No. 1, Oklahoma City has experienced the full championship cycle in just 12 months.
The one thing that hasn't changed? They keep stacking wins while the noise gets louder.
Love them or hate them, the Thunder are still exactly where everyone else wants to be 🏆
The refs just called this a foul on HARTENSTEIN.
hahahahaha and then didn’t call it flagrant on Wemby 😂😂 this is a joke.
Enough is enough. We just want a fair game. It’s so clearly in Wemby’s favor. Most protected player in NBA history already.
