@historigraph@GoodClearTweets@RealTimeWWII Yes I do. They (all) were frightened that the war would escalate. But even that decision was made in Britain’s best interest. (Of course, that’s what every country does) Which kinda was my point, that the remark from the common norwegian was not silly.
@GoodClearTweets@RealTimeWWII I'm glad they upped their game as the years past by. And I hope the world has learned something, but looking at what's happening in Europe recently, I wish there were more people following accounts like this. And thank you for a civilized conversation!
@GoodClearTweets@RealTimeWWII I guess they were not happy about it, but thats exactly what happened. There was no glamor or chivalry at their retreat. Of course for the common foot soldier things might have been different. For the common Norsk they saw brits running away. And the remark was from a common man.
@GoodClearTweets@RealTimeWWII Why is that a silly remark? British troops were there for their own interests, iron ore in particular. Not defending Norways independence. It was not a "campaign" for Norway, it was a fight for independence. As it was for Finland where Britain sent their "thoughts and prayers".
