@KenLayne i was recently deep into a months-long stint of tv addiction. then i had a baby. she will not sleep alone, and so now i spend hours a day beside her reading, or thinking, or doing nothing. it is wonderful.

Looking at this map of the Mississippi River and its tributaries, I am struck by two things:
1) It's so beautiful, we are all woven into this web, the patterns of nature are stunning
2) It's no wonder that New Orleans is an energetic nexus
