Been doing insane shit to RUSH's game state system and simulation logic, to clean things up in preparation for my elaborate session/spectating concept. Cleaned up and streamlined a ton of the complicated math. It's a big step forward for how RUSH ticks under the hood
I just uploaded RUSH version 0.1.8 to itchio, which along w/ tweaks to attacks, enables tick navigation during netplay. I've been putting a ton of work into preparing for a seamless lobby/spectator UX that's just like sitting next to someone offline

I just uploaded version 0.1.7 to itchio. Small update, includes improved wall hit detection (to fix a finnicky corner infinite)
Wanted to fix this before the community tourney being ran TOMORROW at 2:45pm EST, yall should enter obv

I was watching someone play GG Strive tonight, and the game was sputtering and freezing in a 100ms connection. After working on netcode for RUSH, its insane to me what we've been dealing with for so long
FG netcode is literal decades behind the rest of the video game industry
Me and @Righteous_Rojin are running Tekken Tag 2 at Combo Breaker as part of All in Together. It will be ran on PC with a 1K pot and the input lag patch. Heres the announcement in English, Spanish, Korean, and Japanese. @TKJDCR@daichinobi@abeldelmaestro@Shadow20z
Behold: Beatdown (legally distinct)
I've been experimenting with a combo extender for RUSH. The goal would be to explore the potential of an extender to greatly open up juggle utility/routing. Already, I have this system balanced to highly favor shorter combos

I've been working on getting a launch/float state, *and* side switching working. The groundwork for these was already set up, but I had some logic and crashes to sort out. It went way smoother than expected, only a couple days effort. Shit just works, I love it

I uploaded RUSH version 0.1.3 to itchio early this morning, with various tweaks, a potential fix to netcode, and an early version of tap-to-set button config. A couple peeps in the Discord played an EU to OCE game with a lot of rollback, but no desyncs 👌

This was one of those moments where I felt like a game producer (Michael Murray) accidentally said the quiet part out loud.
If your competitive game isn't "skewed towards higher level players" then what you have is a glorified party game.
Explains a lot about the state of T8.
Something a bit obnoxious about the sudden conversation around VF and DOA having movement is that peeps have overlooked the actual difference between these games and Tekken, which is that the appeal of VF and DOA is how they're tightly designed around their triangle systems
Just released my first promo video for RUSH. I quit Tekken 8, and started making my own 3D fighter. Playable for free, complete with rollback. I'm told this is the Back To Basics peeps are looking for 👌
You can grab it on itchio:

I'm currently cooking more stuff for socials, and a proper promotional vid. For now, the build is shadowdropped for anyone who happens to be paying attention. My own 3D fighter w/ rollback n shit, that I've been working on since last July:

If you're starting out with fighting games, I recommend MBAACC. It's affordable and runs smoothly even on low-powered PCs.
Plus, all the characters are fun.
