@DanProft I am one of those people. Live in AH. I have given up hope on Illinois republicans. I have no confidence we can ever win statewide elections again, until election intregrity is fixed. Chicago will always find enough votes.
Absolutely love your posts. Want to provide a little context on citizens united from Grok. "Citizens United applied the same First Amendment rule to both sides. It did not create a one-sided corporate loophole. The pre-2010 system already treated treasury-funded independent spending symmetrically on paper; the operational differences (dues collection, member lists, political purpose of the organization) favored unions in practice. Both sides have used the post-2010 rules heavily.he legal restrictions on using general treasury funds for independent expenditures (ads that expressly support or oppose candidates) were the same for corporations and unions before Citizens United. Both were banned from that and from direct contributions to federal candidates. Both could form PACs funded by voluntary donations.congress.govUnions still had meaningful practical advantages:Automatic, reliable money collection. Unions collect dues via paycheck deduction. Public-sector unions also had agency fees from non-members (until Janus in 2018). This created a large, recurring pool that did not depend on shareholders or voluntary check-writing. Corporations generally cannot compel equivalent payments.files.eric.ed.govMember communications and mobilization. Unions could (and did) spend treasury money freely on communications, endorsements, and get-out-the-vote aimed at their own members and families. That “restricted class” activity was a core part of their political operation and was highly effective. Reaching non-members with treasury funds for express advocacy was the main thing Citizens United opened up.nytimes.comHistorical spending patterns. Labor PACs were among the earliest and, for a long time, among the most effective. Even after corporate PACs grew larger in total dollars, union PACs directed ~90%+ of their contributions to Democrats and unions spent heavily from treasuries on internal political work, state/local races, and mobilization that often exceeded what FEC PAC numbers captured. Labor Department LM-2 filings routinely showed far higher political/lobbying totals than FEC reports alone.foxnews.comImmediately after the 2010 ruling, unions were among the first to use treasury money for express-advocacy ads that previously required limited PAC (hard-money) funds. They also gained the ability to campaign among https://t.co/kSmaaT2jcY"

@shipwreckedcrew Agree 100%. Negotiated a few in commerical finance. Even a signed "binding agreement" will be silly. Who is gonna enforce a violation?
@realsashastone This is such a good post. It is exactly how I feel. Even on the right you can see the agenda's and how people shapeshift. The only way to stay somewhat informed is to follow 10 - 20 people and try and make up your own mind.
@texasrunnerDFW @jbaxter8788 Please count the value of the pensions into total comp. In illinois you can retire in late 50's and start with a six figure pension with guaranteed 3% COLA every year.
@adamtaggart Yes. No valid reason not too. The bill should contain an expedited process for getting people with birth certificate issues. Allow affadavits from people that know them that swear that were born in us. if they are proven false jail time should be permitted.
@kurtsaltrichter Look at pre-buy for new diesel emissions. That is key. I think MY 27 for heavy trucks ( class 8). That drives major buying by large fleets.
🧵 THREAD: NCRI's Analysis: How Abuse of 𝕏's Platform boosted Nick Fuentes
A few days ago, @elonmusk got "ratioed" by Nick Fuentes.
The air quotes are intentional. There was nothing organic about the ratio.
This morning, Network Contagion Research Institute (@ncri_io) released a forensic breakdown of how Nick Fuentes' sudden rise over the past year was driven by synthetic amplification, foreign engagement clusters, and coordinated raid behavior.
I read the full report and asked NCRI some clarifying questions about their methodology. The findings are staggering.
As always, patience as I pull this thread together. 👇
