actually the whole thing about rowling’s current nastiness is that when you go back through the books, it’s all in there. they’re mean, spiteful stories largely about segregation, the inherent superiority of one group of people, and poverty and ill health as a moral failing.
the literacy crisis is so obvious when you’re scrolling through social media. genuinely concerning stuff. people can’t interpret texts, construct them, or identify unreliable narrators. everyone’s mad and people can’t understand each other or communicate why they’re angry.
