After a long period of no contact, I spoke with my cousin today. She told us that most civilians in Kordofan have been forced to leave under extremely difficult conditions. Among them are widows with their children, as well as elderly people.

We were recently approached by the Sudan Medical Specialisation Board who needed our help to prepare a clinical venue within Omdurman teaching hospital so more than 100 prospective Sudanese Surgeons could sit their clinical exam for surgery.

We agreed to help because Sudan faces a critical shortage of medical professionals, particularly surgeons. With entire cities in Sudan without a single qualified surgeon.

This is the first time since the start of this war that the Sudanese Medical Specialisation Board has been able to run an accreditation exam within Khartoum State and we are proud that we have been able to facilitate it. Those who pass this surgery accreditation will likely go on to collectively save tens of thousands of lives in Sudan.

Over the past 5 days RSF forces allowed groups from the Central African Republic, Niger, and Chad to enter Sudan and settle in areas emptied by forced displacement in Darfur. More than 2000 non Sudanese families arrived with their livestock and belongings and established residence in villages vacated by the original residents following RSF violence.
