@realhomerhickam No, bc as a former teacher having a week long break every 6-7 weeks is amazing. Beginning of August and done the week before Memorial Day. This also allows for high school classes to be done by December break for finals and dual enrollment. Works perfectly.

@mollyfleck @conorsen Here in metro ATL, we started yesterday. We get a week long break in September, thanksgiving, 2 at Xmas, February, and April for spring break. We’re also done before Memorial Day. It’s nice having a break about every 6-7 weeks. Breaks the year up nicely.

@natssauer @smalltown_wife Walmart sells black out shades super cheap. They’re not great quality, but they’re less than $10 and block most of the sun out. Just don’t hope to pull them up. They’re kind of a pain to open back up. We had one on my youngest’s window for several months until he didn’t need it.

@theistinthought Former K teacher here. The main reason is maturity level - not so they’re ’bigger and smarter.’ Boys typically mature later than girls so it’s helpful for some to be held back so they gain maturity before starting school. Otherwise they’d struggle big time.

@summerboymom My 4 year old and 2.5 year old do. It’s only because I don’t want to worry about reapplying sunscreen. I do their face and legs (paying close attention to their feet because my dad got 1st degree burns on his one time.)

@scotchsoupmaker I never breastfed. knew I’d resent my husband for not having to do anything. Everything falling on me. Pumping wouldn’t solve that. Basically every mom I know who breastfeeds has such a heavy mental toll placed on them. They seem almost…unhappy? So, that wasn’t gonna be me. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@kjon Nah you’re right. I ended up with preeclampsia with both of my pregnancies at ages 36 and 37. Not even that was a big deal for me. Just keep on moving! You’ll be fine.
