@FunkyPedagogy This is brilliant and honest. I used to suffer badly in the summer hols and beat myself up. If only I had known about my ADHD and how my brain works. I used to feel broken and confused at how I felt and behaved. I can now approach myself with understanding and grace
@mrlockyer My schools the Y11's never left until the last Physics exam. Then, the timetables would roll over. So Y10 became the new Y11, and the only teachers who had 'gain time' would be teachers of Y7. These were usually unstaffed until September, waiting for TF or ECT to start.
@merrillteaches I now have my own educational coaching company. Working with students at high risk of suspension and exclusion. I'm currently working across two schools in a MAT
@chatbiology I get them to sketch the practical equipment and then use the diagram to write the method. Almost tick the stages off in the diagram to write their answer. I demonstrate this whilst teaching all practicals. Plus my drawings are terrible, testubes always get a giggle ๐
@macaulay_mr Brilliant, I always loved providing these exploration learning experiences. I use to give a large conical of muddy water and trays of the most random equipment and full use of the usual Science equipment. Competition who could prepare the 'cleanest' water
