hi I build things and learn as I go ๐ | CS student | Laravel | freelance | building in public | D3 girl on weekends ๐ฎ | Go curious through @bootdotdev
@hamdi_beep4 I don't know, but I will say that I think a lot don't think it's important, which I think is incorrect. Can you do well without it? Sure, absolutely, but, it certainly does help!
Three weeks in. Five more to go.
Our API Doc Sprint kicked off in April, and it's the kind of program that separates writers who talk about consistency from writers who practice it.
Showing up week after week to learn about documentation, when no one is forcing you to, is a different muscle than writing on deadline.
So this week's spotlight goes to three writers inside Hackmamba Creators who've been there from week one:
@mehavannen,@km_fsdev, Aguchukwu Emmanuel - three weeks, no skips.
If you've been watching from the sidelines, the sprint is open through July.
You can join any week, and your streak starts the day you join us.
Come build alongside writers who take docs seriously. The Discord link to join Hackmamba Creators is in the comments.
Week 1 of the Hackmamba Creators' API Documentation Sprint is done, and the responses in the community were genuinely worth reading.
- @alison_combes came in with a developer background and is now learning to document the APIs she has been building.
- Cae completed the UW Specialization in API Documentation and is going deeper into authentication and open-source workflows.
- @km_fsdev said it best: she wants to write docs that do not make people feel like the content was written for someone three levels ahead of them.
That last one stayed with us ๐ฅน .
Shoutout to everyone who showed up, posted their goals, and got honest about where they are starting from. That takes more courage than it looks.
Week 2 goes live today. Members are moving from understanding REST APIs to actually using one like a developer. Postman, curl, JSON responses, the works.
If you want to be part of the next seven weeks, the link to join the community is in the comments.
Today, we're launching a new Laracasts series that will show you the essentials building an AI agent from scratch.
We start with a basic chat response and gradually introduce new concepts, such as the agent loop, custom tools, and more. ๐
