Had a lovely day today collecting stories for our upcoming tapestry project, which will mark the 200th anniversary of our building! 🏰
Looking forward to the tapestry workshops next month with @kmacostume. More information here: https://t.co/iWJGLUsiHx
Last month I ran textile workshops with my first group for the Charabancs and Cadilliacs Travel Quit. Participants made some beautiful work, creating their own panel to add to the quilt based on their memories of holidays and travel 🏝️🚢✈️
Last week I was back home in Newham for the launch of ‘Charabancs and Cadillacs’ a wonderful community project, for which I will be leading the creation of a quilt inspired by memories of travel and holidays

Visited a hidden gem of an exhibition at @japanhouseldn ‘KUMIHIMO: Japanese Silk Braiding’ it was beautifully curated and explored the creation and use of braiding as a traditional hand craft, thoroughly recommend !
An open day at @KelvinHall16 is a great excuse to spend my morning getting a closer look at some of the university dress collection using a dino-lite 🔍 and talking to people about my masters programme
Had a day trip today to Fife to see tapestries in a private collection, cycling through fields in the sun (and rain!) was an extra lovely bit to the research trip ⛅️
Had a lovely day running our pirate radio themed activities at @KelvinHall16 as part of the Museum Learning Student Takeover! We really said: ahoy 🏴☠️ ✨
Yesterday I had a dissertation research visit to @nationaltrust Nostell to see their tapestries and all the staff were so lovely and helpful! Also glad to see some signage to address the racist imagery in an object on display, but several other visitors were vocally annoyed by it
@bluebelldreamer@nationaltrust Thank you ! I am researching The Continents tapestry series produced by the Borght family, two are at Nostell so I had to visit!
Another great thing about Nostell is that it can be got to easily on public transport, a rare thing for many National Trust properties! Although the bus driver was very surprised that we were at the bus stop outside Nostell, so probably not a common way of getting there
Had a fantastic evening at @UofGARC with @polarframe showing our mini exhibition The Fabric of Gaming ! Thanks to the @UofGGamesLab for supporting our exhibition 🎮✨
‘The Fabric of Gaming’ exhibition is returning to the ARC @UofGlasgow for a night celebrating sustainability and video games, sign up for free here: https://t.co/v6RSseJo2D @UofGGamesLab
Disappointing to read that @EEWomensMuseum still lacks a physical location. It sounded like an amazing opportunity to have a museum in Barking, still there is great work being done on their website blog exploring women’s stories: https://t.co/1YjOId1979
Today marks 180 years since the opening of the Thames Tunnel! Commemorative handkerchiefs were sold as souvenirs, two survive in @BrunelMuseum collection:
