I agree that as educators, we are suppose to help children become their own independent beings, yet so often adults are too busy trying to make they conform-instead we should be pushing them to break down the ceilings
Dear privileged parents who want hard working teachers to provide you with things to do at home. NOTHING NOTHING assigned is better than you reading to your kid. Cooking with them. Spending time. Teachers work hard. Let them stick to inside their class. You got outside of class.
@KGainerteacher I love it! I found a post about teaching like a pineapple and decided that next school year I wanted to make my students pineapples... Now they can even get Golden Pineapples!!!
Thank you Music Center for affording my class and my daughter’s class the opportunity to learn Flamenco from Ms. Andrade. #themusiccenter#matadoraflamenca

@KGainerteacher That is an awesome idea. What kinds of things do you ask them to grade you on? I would love to do that, but I only have a week to get it together if I want feedback from this year's class. Thank you!!!
This week SRDLA Ballet Folklorico students were recognized by the ERUSD school board for their wonderful performance at CABE. They each received a certificate for participating.
@FourPoint_Ed@edutopia I completely agree. Drawing or adding images helps students understand at a more personal level. My masters thesis studied how creating digital stories via Adobe Spark impacts reading comprehension. There was noticeable increase especially in low performing readers.
4th grade students learned Flamenco thanks to the Music Center... and were televised on Telemundo. Learning about the culture inspired students to create these murals. #elementaryarts, #SRDLA
