Today, for Women's History Month, we're honoring Chief Christine Bastedenbeck, a true trailblazer in the NYPD! Joining in July 1998, she began her journey on patrol in the 110 Precinct, paving the way for an extraordinary career.
Chief Bastedenbeck's dedication has seen her serve in diverse roles across the city, from precincts like the 9th and 63 to Transit Districts 1 and 3. Promotions came as a testament to her excellence, from Sergeant in August 2003 to the prestigious rank of Assistant Chief in January 2023.
Currently leading as the Commanding Officer of Patrol Borough Queens North, she's previously held crucial roles as Executive Officer of the Transit Bureau, Transit Bureau Administrator, Commanding Officer of the Transit Borough Brooklyn Task Force, and Transit District 1.
A highly educated leader, Christine holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminology from St. John’s University, a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from John Jay College, and has graduated from esteemed programs like the Police Management Institute at Columbia University (2014) and the Senior Management Institute for Police (2017).
Today our nation celebrates its 247th birthday. Your NYPD officers will be out today, ensuring the safety of all the spectators who will gather to reign in the holiday. Please celebrate #IndependenceDay📷 responsibly and leave the fireworks to the professionals.
@AmericanAir please let me know how one person is misinformed this poorly, and why it’s impossible to speak to a real person over the phone. If it wasn’t for my @Apple air tags i would have believed her and not pursued the situation.
Our PBQN Community Youth Tae Kwon Do class tested for their next belt this evening at the Rock Church in Elmhurst Queens. Thank you to all our officers, students and families for their steadfast dedication to the program. Congratulations to all our students!
