Spurs go on a 16-1 scoring run, and now up 99-97 … crowd is absolutely insane right now. Here’s the moment where Devin Vassell hits the 3 to take the lead in the 4th:

"...approached US Border Patrol officers with a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun, seen here."
This is the victim, holding a phone in his right hand before CBP assaults and murders him.
They're lying to you, spitting in the eye of everyone who can see.
ICE murdered another person in my district this morning. This was a flat out execution. Horrific and absolutely on the hands of these untrained, untamed agents.
Every single one must be held accountable for their actions. We can no longer allow them to continue on their spree
Here goes.
There's a fine line between celebrating/hoping for someone's death and feeling indifferent/nothing about it. I'm on the latter half of the spectrum when it comes to Charlie Kirk. We need to stop pretending that death retroactively makes someone a good person and undoes all the harm and hate they caused when they were here. Literally moments before his murder, he was doing the whole scapegoating transgenders for school shootings bit that the MAGA crowd has latched onto.
Kirk spent his life spreading propaganda and hate to enlarge his platform and his bottom line in some of the most unapologetic, provocative ways possible. Not the least of which includes:
- Saying he wouldn't feel safe if he flew on a plane with a black pilot.
- Suggesting the 1965 Civil Rights Act was a mistake
- Said black women such as Michelle Obama and Kentaji Brown Jackson didn't have "brain processing power" to be taken seriously and stole white people's positions
- Said if he had a 10 year old daughter and was forcibly raped, he'd make her deliver the rapist's child.
- Gave credence to the "Great Replacement Theory"
- Said gun deaths are necessary to preserve the 2nd Amendment
- Has repeatedly denied Israel's genocide of the Palestinian people (and I believe has said there is no such thing as a Palestinian)
- Spread the narrative that George Floyd died of fentanyl and wasn't murdered
And this was done all in the name of "free speech", which MAGA has utilized as a means of giving a license to be freely racist, xenophobic, homophobic, and hateful. Let's be clear. These aren't issues that we can "agree to disagree" on. I am not about to "agree to disagree" with a racist. This isn't an MJ/LeBron debate. These are issues regarding our very humanity. And while being racist isn't illegal, it doesn't make it right, and it doesn't have to be accepted.
So I'm confused. Why am I supposed to feel empathy? Hell, Charlie Kirk even had a problem with using the very term "empathy". What I feel bad about is the fact that his daughters had to witness that, and they won't have a father figure. I feel bad that senseless gun violence will continue to be ignored instead of other scapegoats like "video games" and "SSRI's". I feel bad that the rate of political violence may very well increase since we have FOX News anchors vowing to "avenge" his death and Musk declaring one political party as the "party of murder". The same folks who spread memes about George Floyd being "five years sober" this year.
Meanwhile, the same people condemning the "rhetoric" are the same ones who were calling for Mike Pence's head on January 6th. The president of this country every day gets on his Truth Social app and goes after news anchors, celebrities, and politicians who don't kiss his ass and calls them names and issues threats whenever he's not stroking his own ego. He literally just suggested he's ready to napalm Chicago and declare war on certain US cities just the other day. Hyprocrisy isn't even the word.
When the Minnesota lawmakers were killed a couple months ago, Trump didn't order flags to be flown at half-staff. He didn't even use their names on his lone post the day they were assassinated nor did he attend their funeral or call Tim Walz as a sign of unity and sarcastically asked why he would call him. When Biden was diagnosed with cancer, he called Biden vicious and said not to feel sorry for him. Yet when it's a MAGA voice, we need to tone it down. We need to stop spreading hate and harmful rhetoric and take the high road. We need to stop calling racism and Neo-Nazism when we see it in our face. Every time.
The shooting makes me upset and must be condemned. But for me, the tragedy isn't that Kirk is no longer with us. The tragedy is that he chose to use his platform to spread racism and hate while he was here. Whether or not it was a performative act and he was a different person when the cameras weren't on, I won't know. It's a sad situation all around. He didn't deserve to get sniped in front of his kids. That would make me sick. I believe in the potential for anyone to do better while they're here.
But I don't have tears for Charlie. I have tears for those boys and girls in the Middle East who have been shot and bombed without restraint. I have tears for parents who drop their kids off at school and get a call that their child was shot dead in their classroom because we have cowardly politicians refusing to take the issue head-on because of some outdated interpretation of the 2nd Amendment.
Violent instances like these aren't unique in America, and I wish we could all get to a place where gunfire isn't what settles things. But I'm not about to be gaslighted into feeling sorry for someone who routinely made denigrating remarks about people who share my skin color.
That's about as rational as I can be with this situation. I feel bad for his kids and the people who loved Kirk and feel sad about the way he went out. But I'm not about the fake moral grandstanding from the people who would literally spit on the grave if the roles were reversed.
I said what I said.
