@1goodtern Can you comment on the decision to not start the adult vaccination programme until October? Is it unlucky fluke there's an early 'flu wave or something to do with a chunk of people not receiving their vaccines in September?
Public celebration of that kind of good fortune seems likely to encourage people to endanger themselves rather than learn safer ways to help people stranded in water.
Probably an unpopular opinion: watching the Pride of Britain awards and I see someone getting an award for going into the water to rescue two people caught by a riptide. It seems to be luck rather than skill that they all survived rather than all dying. Was it brave or foolhardy?
Anybody have any car buying tips? Want something petrol with 4-5 doors, with less than 35000 miles that's less than ten years old with a nice big boot. (Yes this is a cross post from Mastodon). (A bike doesn't work for the journeys I need to do).
@KitzingerCelia You might reach for the CPR if there's an obscure thing not covered by the COP Rules and you want to ask the Court to do something drawing deriving from the principles in the CPR.
Lots of people have become Wrong on the Internet. The terms you want when thinking about sexual activities need to be behaviour based not identity based. GBMSM doesn't add anything useful to MSM in this context yet I'm seeing it used more often. Please stop.
I think there's a useful comparison between provocation re murder/ manslaughter and the lengthy sentences for M25 protest planning vs sentences for rioters. (I will be over simplifying a bit - am not a criminal lawyer).
and they'd be convicted of murder. And it's similar with the protestors who spent time planning what they were going to do vs. rioters many of whom will claim to have been acting on impulse / to have made mistakes in the heat of the moment.
Yet how many were left behind? Why didn't the operation start earlier? Why were people who'd worked with UK armed forces as interpreters etc not cared for? Can't sensibly remember courage without acknowledging the stuff that went wrong:-/
Three years on, we remember the extraordinary courage shown by all those involved in Op PITTING.
Thanks to the effort of our brave Armed Forces personnel and diplomats, more than 15,000 people were airlifted to safety in one of the most challenging evacuations in recent history.
@Beth_Tastic@martinimarie@childmatters2me Doesn't matter; it's the LA's job to obtain the evidence it needs to make the decision. If it can't confidently say 'no' it ought to be starting an EHC needs assessment.
Where would you file a Girl guiding UK book about hike cooking? Is it a cookery book? a Guiding book? a walking book? I have other books that don't fit neatly in one category.
