1. People were prejudiced always but now WhatsApp has made it worse. In each colony, there is a WA group, right-wing 'forwards' are posted daily & unknowingly or knowingly, members grow more hateful, get to higher level of radicalization.

2. If colony of 100, has 5 'others', then a second group is formed for the 95 & here talk is different. Double-faced with convenience.

3. False beliefs and prejudices are circulated in that group, constantly. Sometimes if a non-Muslim objects, he is ousted from majoritarian group.

4. In groups of institutions that have the topmost industry people, those from best institutions & having the best and luxurious life, they are extremely bitter and always complaining and making claims.

5. Unless there is a national movement, govt taking a serious view of the issue, appeals for harmony from top leaders, social media companies issuing directives and advertizing campaigns at national scale to promote harmony, it is very difficult to change the mindset.

6. The reason is that there is now a clear division. Easy to be bigot within one circle and acting up, being nice outside.

7. You meet, come across, a person, here your talk properly. But in 'that' WhatsApp group, you turn totally different.

8. In some alumni grousp too that I was added, my closest friends turned out to be so hateful, that I'd no option but to quit.

9. A few decades ago, there was a government effort to bring celebrities, singers, musicians, actors who came together and sang, 'Mile sur mera tumhaara....to bane sur hamaara....' to bring communities together.

10. If very serious efforts are not made to ensure harmony and it is not drilled in minds that either be civil or just be mum, because hate speech or hate crime can land you in trouble, then there is a chance of improvement. Otherwise, the conversation level has reached the stage, where even people no longer care about basic decency & in future, in public life, the hitch that is there to some extent, may also go.

आपल्या स्वार्थाची एखादी गोष्ट बहुजनांच्या मनात खोलवर रुजावी अशी वैदिकांची इच्छा असली,की ते एक डाव टाकतात,ते ती गोष्ट बहुजनांमध्ये अत्यंत आदरणीय,मान्यताप्राप्त वा पूज्य असलेल्या एखाद्या व्यक्तीकडून करवून घेतात,निदान त्या व्यक्तीच्या तोंडून ती वदवून घेतात.वा तिला तिची ओझरती का होईना मान्यता घेतात.ते जमले नाहीच,तर तिच्या मृत्यूनंतर ती गोष्ट चक्क तिच्या नावावर खपवून देण्यासाठी प्रचाराचा धूमधडाका सुरु करतात.

तुळशीच्या लग्नाचा विधी ही एक अशीच गोष्ट आहे.तुळस ही नि:संदिग्धपणे एका अनार्य,अवैदिक अशा पतिव्रता स्त्रीचे प्रतीक आहे.कोणा तरी आर्य पुरुषाने कपटाने तिचे शील भ्रष्ट केल्यामुळे तिने अग्नीत उडी घेऊन आत्महत्या केली,तिचा नवराही मारला गेला.आर्याना मात्र तिचे शील भ्रष्ट करण्याचा क्षण हा आपल्या विजयाचा,आपल्या अभिमानाचा इतिहास आहे,असे वाटत होते.म्हणून त्यांनी तुळशीचा त्या पुरुषांबरोबरचा तो संबंध हा त्या दोघांचा विवाह म्हणून दरवर्षी साजरा करायला सुरवात केली.तो विवाह बहुजनसमाजामध्ये रुजावा म्हणून या बलात्कारी पुरुषाचे आधी विष्णुशी आणि नंतर कृष्णांशी ऐक्य मानण्याची वैदिकांची चाल इतकी यशस्वी झाली की,त्या समाजाने आपल्याच एका महान स्त्रीच्या विटंबनेचा तो कलंकित क्षण हा पवित्र सण म्हणून स्विकारला.तो समाज त्या अपवित्र क्षणाची जयंती अभिमानाने साजरी करु लागला.
आज आपण तुळशीला तिच्या आत्मबलिदानाबद्दल जरुर पुज्य मानले पाहीजे.पण तिचे लग्न विष्णुबरोबर वा कृष्णाबरोबर लावणे हा तुळशीचा अपमान आहे.सदर पुस्तक म्हणजे अपमानातून निर्माण झालेल्या दाहक व्यथेचा एक सौम्य आविष्कार आहे.

आज बलिप्रतिपदा!
आजच्या दिवशी बळीराजा आपल्या प्रजेला भेटायला येतो असे मानले जाते. या दिवशी आपल्याकडे सर्व दुःख बाजूला ठेवून आपल्या राजाचे स्वागत केले जाते. नवीन कपडे, गोड पदार्थ, रोषणाई केली जाते. आजही ग्रामीण भागात माताभगिनी आपल्या घरातील पुरुषांना ओवाळताना “इडा पीडा टळो, बळीचे राज्य येवो” अशी प्रार्थना करतात.

बाटूक वामनाने कपटाने आपल्या बळीराजाला ठार केले अशी पुराणकथा आहे. अशा वामनाचा उदोउदो करण्याचा प्रयत्न आजकाल फार केला जात आहे.खरे तर आजच्या दिवशी #वामन_दहन केले पाहीजे.जे आम्ही गेली अनेक वर्ष सार्वजनिक स्वरुपात करित आलेलो आहे.अद्याप ही करित आहे. बहुजन समाजातील अनेक लोक भुलून वामनाला बळीच्या डोक्यावर बसवण्याचा नीच प्रयत्न करतात. आपल्याच लोकांकडून आपल्याच राजाचा अवमान केला जातो, यासारखी शरमेची बाब नाही.

महात्मा फुले बळीच्या राज्याचा म्हणजेच आपल्या देशाचा उल्लेख “बळीस्थान” असा करतात. खंडोबा, म्हसोबा, जोतिबा, काळभैरव, मल्हारी मार्तंड, इत्यादि बळीराजाच्या राज्याचे सरदार होते, ज्यांना आपण आपले कुलदैवत मानतो. बळीराजाचा इतिहास व्यापक आहे, तो हळूहळू समोर येत आहे. एकेका गोष्टीचा उलगडा होत आहे. जागरूक झालेले लोक बलिप्रतिपदा या दिवशी “वामनदहन” सारखे कार्यक्रम आयोजित करू लागले आहेत. बदल घडत आहे.

इडा पीडा टळो, बळीचं राज्य येवो!
