Elon Musk has an incredibly impactful digital presence, as he was recently responsible for moving the stock market. He utilized Hashtags to create interest in certain stocks, & to inform others as well as provide updates(Bruce & Ingerson, 2013) on how the stocks were changing

@amorin_faith They have definitely twisted the meaning of relationships. I feel that dating apps have fueled the "hook up" culture to new extremes. Social media & dating apps have made it hard to find genuine people, & it is difficult to tell people's intentions based on online conversation

@JosephC24786253 Social media has made life a lot more polarized. If we look at this year's election, it is a perfect example. We have never been so divided as a nation, & I feel this is due to social media. Opinions are very strong nowadays, & if you disagree, the response is extremely negative

@notdylanrusso The most alarming consequence is the mental health issues so many young teens have now that weren't as significant before social media. The increase in suicides in young people is very alarming. A limit on time usage of SNS may help this, & punishing cyberbullies may also help

@amorin_faith My screen time is similar and sometimes worse than this example. It's hard to realize how much time you spend staring at your screen, and devoted to social media. I find this feature helpful however to cut down my screen time #selfsocietyclass

Influencer Danielle Cohn, who is rumored to be 13 has had numerous occasions where her posts have displayed inappropriate behavior, and lead to bullying. Like Livingstone states, having an online presence is the norm for our generation ++ #selfsocietyclass

@selinbellibas This is a good example. Models jobs are basically to be beautiful, and in todays day and age if paparazzi catch you on an off day as a celebrity, you’re immediately under fire for being “fake” or “ugly” which is wrong #selfsocietyclass

@laurentenRU This is a great example. As an 18-year-old women, and huge celebrity, Billie faces criticism all the time. I’ve read that hate and other’s opinions contribute to why she wears such big clothing to hide her body from the public eye #selfsocietyclass
