I am deeply honored to stand alongside my fellow commissioners of the Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM II) as we witness the signing of the Joint Circular between the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) and the Department of Education (DepEd) today at Malacañang Palace. 📚👧🏻
One of the key findings of EDCOM II’s Year Two Report was the urgent need to expand access to early childhood education, particularly in low-income local government units. It is truly heartening to see this significant initiative come to fruition, as it underscores the government's commitment to ensuring that every Filipino child has the opportunity to build a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
I extend my deepest gratitude to His Excellency President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. for his unwavering support and advocacy for inclusive education. This milestone is a testament to his administration’s dedication to uplifting the lives of our youngest learners and their families; ito ay testamento ng isang pamahalaang nakikinig at nagsisilbi sa tinig ng bayan! 🔔

“Where do the cracks in our foundation lie, and how can we strengthen it, not merely to stand firm but to bear the weight of our children’s biggest and boldest dreams?”
These were the questions I posed today during the launch of EDCOM II’s Year Two Report. This milestone reflects the rigorous study and insightful analyses conducted by EDCOM and its partners from across government, civil society, the private sector, and international organizations.
Education is the pillar of national progress, the foundation upon which we build innovation, peace, justice, and sustainable development. Through this report, we move forward with a unified vision to ensure every Filipino child’s future is defined by opportunity, equity, and excellence.
Congratulations to my EDCOM family, especially the Advisory Council, Standing Committees, Technical Secretariat, and all our partners. Your dedication to fixing the foundations of our education system inspires hope. Together, we will ensure this report leads to meaningful action. @DepEd_PH

Our support to @EDCOM2ph, contributed to key policy recommendations aimed at empowering Filipino students for future jobs.
Part of the problem lies in the limited pool of potential school principals, as EDCOM 2 flagged “the low passing rates and inconsistent delivery of the National Qualifying Examination for School Heads (NQESH).” https://t.co/jqiF6VPj4J
