Author of the 1970s romance Rushing Whispers. Lover of books and music, food and fun. Taking an indefinite break here but find me on Instagram— click the link:)
I am so excited to share this!! Rushing Whispers is so much fun to work on & I'm grateful that others enjoy it as well :) the link in my bio has options for you: main page, table of contents, or the tumblr with character aesthetic posts! #WritersCafe#amwriting#writingcommunity
@a_elenko A speech-to-text app or just voice recording yourself instead of physically writing the words down might help. It makes it less of a "chore" and more like rambling/talking to pass the time. I'm amazed I manage to write at all with my state of being
@jroberts1324 First Nations & Indigenous Peoples are popular terms in Canada, as is Native American. French Canadians say Amerindians. But that's the white people. Most natives I meet prefer that term: Native. Or they use an area-based term as a prefix (Maritime Native) or their tribe name
@mrmikeMTL I can pick things up with my toes 😅 saw a female ape writing with her feet in the 2001 Planet of The Apes & became obsessed. I was 4yo then & got pretty good at it. Now what's left of that skill is freakishly flexible toes & never bending down for a dropped eraser since 😂
@a_elenko It's not easy, but try to take it day by day; you can only do so much without feeling worse.
I'm in a similar boat - appt. with a specialized Dr in three weeks, from a request I made myself because GP said "nothing else to be done." When did my daily pain begin? Feb 21 *2020*
@ElanaMcdougall I'd love to use the interrobang (if ! and ? are intertwined into one symbol) but I try to get around that dilemma by choosing the most intense emotion between the two and then using dialogue tags.
"What are you doing?" she shrieked impatiently
For me, that does the job ;P
@potterhockey@mrmikeMTL I've been using eye lubricant / artificial tears every day since 2012. About 1mm per day, the cost adds up even with flyer discounts. Lately, screens have been wreaking havoc on me in terms of headaches, I even installed an app to lower my phone brightness below Android's 0%
@potterhockey@mrmikeMTL I *feel* this :( had surgery in 2012 to remove the largest of "many cysts" from behind my left eye (right eye has cysts too) and had a nice nine years without the headaches & feeling like my eyeballs are being pressed on. Now, back to the ophthalmologist for me
All this talk about "the real working class" - listen, buddy. My entire family worked to the bone, and I didn't even go on $20 day trips at school. First time I saw wall-to-wall carpeting @ 7yo I gasped, "you have stairs INSIDE your house??? A garage for the car?? You're rich!"
@Siennafrst I certainly see what writing YA gives to authors, in terms of exploration, and I'd be lying if I said YA books didn't fill my time as a teen. But I don't write teens much, and my current project has sex, swearing, marriage, drugs; and it fits fine for my ~30 year old OCs
@AngieTarino You're welcome! I also like spreading some honey on a buttered piece of homemade bread, but it could be something from the store like a baguette or a Belgian loaf too :):)
@AngieTarino Boil carrots until they're 3/4 ready, then put them on medium heat in a frying pan with a touch of butter and a lotta honey! Reduce the heat after two minutes or so, then let the honey turn to a glaze with the low heat. It's delicious! Also works with (actual pure) maple syrup!
