“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?”
MOCA ROOMs began as an experiment to decentralize our curation by extending the Museum out into hundreds of unique, permissionless, interoperable metaverse spaces - or ROOMs.
This week, 3 years after our first “Genesis ROOMs” release, the final 191st ROOM has been minted. The collection is now complete and all Pass holders have received their ROOM.
This series is both an epic catalog of experimental architectures and a record of open curation - an onchain archive where every 2D JPEG hung within a ROOM became a permanent part of the ecosystem metadata. This project is dedicated to exploring the infinite possibilities of what a “Museum” can become in a new quasivirtual world where art curation is a wholly public exercise.
ROOMs would not have been possible without the incredible support of Pass collectors and the architects who joined me in exploring the emerging virtual realm. A deep thank you to @decentralize___@polygonalmind@jvlive_H@MMensaMM Walt_the_Artist and many more who helped us iterate on ideas across worlds like @hyperfy_io@SomniumSpace@decentraland@cryptovoxels@AriumSpaces@SubstrataVr@niftyisland@monaverse@MozillaHubs and projects like @newherexyz@IRLart__@beautiful___xyz and more.
Take a look at some of the core ROOM series (below) and highlights from the last 3 years. While the minting phase has concluded for ROOMs, the true journey has only just begun 🐇🕳️

Major update - my first 3D architecture series - FFORMS (2021) has been reborn. Metadata has been completely rebuilt to remove dependencies on any third-party IPFS subscriptions. All CC0 3D files are now stored on Arweave and formatted for ease-of-use across metaverse apps 🧵 ↴
