On the day that Lauren Edwards MP reintroduced the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill, a reminder that none of these problems have been addressed 👇
It is no accident that it is the left-wing Labour MPs who oppose assisted dying. They know exactly what will happen in the future – the assisted dying ward will be set up in their local NHS hospital, the cuts to social care and palliative care will mount and the poorest and the most vulnerable will be pushed towards Assisted Dying Ward 2. Just why if you were a parliamentarian would you make Assisted Death on the NHS a priority?
Police “Twist” handcuffs to cause more Pain to 17 year old boy 😳👮♀️😡
Sheffield 🏴
The 17 year old boy who hit his head on a metal bollard after being “violently” arrested is on the ground explaining he is in a lot of Pain after hitting his head…an officer “Twists” his handcuffs to cause more pain and tells him to “relax” this is police brutality 😡

In response to MPs reintroducing the deadly Assisted Dying Bill, Archbishop John Wilson said:
“Assisted suicide has no place in a civilised society. It violates the God-given dignity of human life and puts the vulnerable – especially elderly and disabled people – in grave danger.
“As followers of the Lord Jesus, we have a duty to speak out and to act when the lives of so many people are at risk. That is why I urge Catholics to pray and to campaign to stop this deadly bill from becoming law”

Utterly fed up with this lie, promoted by campaigners since the start. In 2024 a lot of MPs were brand new but they've seen dozens and dozens of bills since then. There is no excuse for this utter misleading tosh, and it takes other MPs for fools.
@knoweuro@sappholives83@UsforThemUK@Miss_Snuffy@GordonBrown I know. More and more I think the way the police, social workers, politicians and others acted was because they hold these children in contempt and are not worth bothering about. It's utterly bewildering.
Then there's the implementation. The former Attorney General for Victoria says the system is "designed for the regulator to find out nothing, investigate nothing and report nothing that could suggest that assisted dying has been anything other than an unblemished success" 2/
Lauren Edwards told @LabourList that being from Victoria, Australia gives her confidence to force into law the failed unsafe assisted dying Bill.
But Victoria’s Act contains safeguards absent from her Bill - safeguards she will ask MPs to vote down:
1. Core principles in statute: every human life has equal value; people should receive quality care to minimise suffering and maximise quality of life; choices must be genuine; vulnerable people must be protected from abuse.
2. Doctors must not initiate or suggest assisted death.
3. Suffering must be incapable of being relieved.
4. Doctors must have at least 5 years’ experience.
5. Doctor must have relevant expertise in the person’s illness/condition.
6. Explicit attention to mental illness - psychiatric referral is required where mental illness may affect capacity.
7. The patient must be warned of the risks of taking the lethal substance.
8. Witnesses cannot own/run the facility where the person is treated or lives, nor provide them with health/professional care services.
9. A detailed statutory regime governs supply, handling and return of the lethal substance.
10. Interpreters must be adults, should be accredited, independent, not family, not beneficiaries, and not working at the care / health facility.
If Victoria gives her confidence, why is her Bill weaker than Victoria?
I don't normally do personal posts but one of the reasons why I remain opposed to the #assistedsuicide bill is its determination to provide it for those with #Downsyndrome. Section 19 even provides for a proxy for those who cannot read.
My uncle Kenny, who competed at the National Special Olympics in Canada in 1994, was my first friend. Though he had Down Syndrome he could read (I remember when I was very young he would read me comics), memorised Hamlet's soliliquoy and told many jokes. He was a wonderful, warm, gentle character. But he was also very suggestible and needed guidance about many aspects of life.
I would not have wanted him to decide to kill himself with no input from family and those who cared for him, as this bill will provide for in those in a similar situation to Kenny. The fact that many people with learning disabilities were given DNR notices indicates that eugenic reasoning lives on. That this bill - and its EQIA- is careful to include those with Down syndrome indicates its eugenic nature.
It must be defeated.
Please could the Thames Valley Police allow people into the Oxford Union. Protesters are blocking the entrances while law and order is not being upheld.
The United Kingdom is going to announce additional restrictions in July on VPN usage. This is ON TOP OF the social media restrictions and mandated online identity verifications.
It's over, UK. You sold out your own society. Absolute tragedy. Very sad.
🤬🤬Lauren Edwards misleads Press Association: "we (MPs) will have the opportunity to have a final vote on [the Bill] in the usual way once it returns from the Lords.”
MPs do NOT get to vote on ANY Bill as a whole that returns from the Lords, only specific amendments.
Truly shocking that Labour are bringing back the assisted suicide/euthanasia bill after so much backlash last time.
Here is the moment it happened. Gross.
@JacquelBens@sappholives83@UsforThemUK@Miss_Snuffy They can't make lifestyle choices (except for under Gillick competence). The State ever since Gordon Brown are looking at these vulnerable children as consenting. They cannot consent & @GordonBrown should know that. They are CHILDREN
The Times editorial is correct. The assisted suicide Bill is a shambles and is very defective. Its key sponsors, ultimately the Government, know this but are pressing on regardless.
Editorial: Assisted dying bill is shoddy and riddled with defects

The CEO of the open borders ‘charity’ posing with the illegal migrants the BBC let her plant on Question Time.
All of them were chosen to ask a question!
The BBC is a disgraceful propaganda channel!
