#singingmatters@DCMS@MelJStride Tell me what the difference is. My amateur choir sang last Autumn both in rehearsal and in a Carol Service all risk assessed and distanced. Very successful and no infections.
Children and youth choirs are back! Now it's time for adults to return too. It's vital for the mental health & welbeing of the nation. Please sign this parliamentary petition linked to the government's recent U-turn.

#ChoirsMatter#singingmatters@DCMS@OliverDowden@gmb Please review the @PHE_uk guidelines for singing - this isn’t following the science. 10000 footie fans can stand next to each other and shout/hug/sing but choirs are forbidden to sing indoors with distancing.
A perfect illustration of how seriously choirs have been following the guidelines - everything we can do to minimise risk yet suddenly all this is more dangerous than attending a professional gig or going to the pub? Stop the madness @DCMS#singingmatters
My wife’s badminton group are allowed to meet again. Running around indoors.
Choir rehearsals, people are masked, socially distanced and stay in preallocated seats.
Which is riskier?

It wasn’t the location we planned due to this weeks DCMS update, but after over a year of Zoom rehearsals it was amazing to sing together again in person, despite the cold May wind!

Last night I stayed in a popular pub. Random drinkers were staggered 2 hour time slots. People moving to toilet and smoking area without masks.
Choir rehearsals limited to 1 hour with same people each time. Which is riskier?
