Thank you @SafeBoda for giving birth to my career & for everyone who was/is continuously encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone. Am incredibly thankful for the level of support you continue to show me. Proud to have been part of the journey that still is. A proud alumni😊

This country is slowly going to the dogs, if it hasn’t already.
The economy is in ruins, despite attempts by the regime to paint a rosy picture. Fuel prices are through the roof & the dollar rate has gone wild. As a result, prices of everything are now going up the stairs to the rooftop.
The tax authority continues to squeeze us into the ground even when it knows we are barely hanging on. You’re paying so many taxes you barely have anything left for basic survival.
On the other side Ministers, MPs, RDCs, Presidential Advisors & other folks of that kind are enjoying fat salaries & lavish lifestyles at the expense of the already burdened tax payer.
Meanwhile, service delivery is at an all time low, medical workers are disillusioned & aggrieved, teachers are grumpy & civil servants are just walking in & out of their offices at will. There is a nonchalant attitude across the entire civil service.
At the same time, the rule of law is nonexistent & anyone can be picked up at any time for as much as a sneeze that angers you-know-who. All this while, the Judiciary continues to turn a blind eye to the plight of political dissidents who don’t agree with the regime. People are picked up, tortured & kept incommunicado & the judiciary is mute.
Because the regime owns the parliament, all MPs can do right now is endorse whatever repressive law the regime cooks up to entrench itself. They legislate for the regime, not for the people.
Don’t forget that, security is now a reserve of those who have guns. Armed robbers, thugs with iron bars, pavers & other weapons own the streets. You can’t move without worrying that you’ll be attacked & possibly thumped to death by goons looking to relive you of your hard earned shillings & property.
I’m a lover of hope & positivity but is it such a wild thing to say that Uganda is tending towards a failed state? Is it being overly dramatic to say we are really going through the pits? And I know I seem like I’m only picking out things that are not working but am I telling any lies?
Yes, there are things that work & there is so much to be proud of as a Ugandan but in this moment right now, I’m very low on morale. And this is sad, considering this week we celebrate our independence.
How do you guys feel those ends? This side it’s looking bleak. 😔
@UEDCLTD What happened to “quick support”? Power outages are frequent, & customer care just dishes out robotic replies with a very unclear TAT. Are we to believe all transformers died when UMEME left? We can’t function for even an 30 minutes now. What is this? Total black out since mng?
@UEDCLTD Power has been off in Ministers Village, Kisugu, and parts of Muyenga since 7:00 AM today. Businesses are suffering, and there has been no communication or clear solution from your end. This level of silence and disruption is unacceptable. Please update us urgently.
@nwscug Advise on what? How to rob me more? I mean, you haven’t reminded me to pay, but somehow, this is the time you switched up my bill conveniently and sent your agent 😗. It’s not about the money, it’s about your petty theft 😒.
@nwscug , you’re really outdoing yourselves. Paid every bill this year without fail. Nov’s bill was UGX 108,497 for 30 days. Now explain why Dec’s bill is also UGX 108,497, for 19 days?
Less users, same amount? & your agent shows up to threaten disconnection? Stop this nonsense.
@nwscug@NWSCMD Wemuba mutama, not once have you reminded me to pay but somehow, conveniently before Christmas, you have copied and pasted a bill so that you find an excuse to disconnect a loyal payer. Bino @SpireJim yabiturwanira because the petty theft is very laughable.

@Airtel_Ug@Airtel_Ug Y’all are thieves. I bought your MiFi, loaded 50GB last week, & it doesn’t work! Your support sent me to Acacia, where your service staff said, ‘That’s just how it is, wait.’ Meanwhile, 11GB is mysteriously gone on a device that only opens WhatsApp. No emails, nothing.
Had to conduct a research to understand the concept of feminism better; because as a law student, what I see online is totally different from what I have been taught overtime & I have a few things to share. If you don’t agree with my tweet, please just go away😭 I don’t fight
Exactly 2 years ago, I relocated to London from Nairobi.
Here's what I have achieved or learnt in the past 2 years. A thread
1. I’ve learnt how to say INNIT with a London accent.
Simple really!
Ah, the age-old question of how something as gargantuan as a cruise ship doesn't just go "glub glub" and sink to the bottom of the ocean. Here's the lowdown:
1. **Archimedes' Principle**: This is the real MVP. It states that any object placed in a fluid (like water) is acted upon by an upward buoyant force equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by the object. In simpler terms, if a ship displaces water that weighs more than the ship itself, it floats.
- **How it works for ships**: Cruise ships are designed with a lot of empty space inside (like your uncle's head, but less echoey). This means they displace a lot of water. The weight of this water is greater than the weight of the ship, so up it goes!
2. **Hull Design**: The shape of the ship's hull also plays a crucial role. The hull is wide and flat at the bottom, which helps in spreading out the weight over a larger area, thus increasing the volume of water displaced.
- **Think of it like this**: If you lay flat on water, you float better than if you try to stand. Same principle, but with a lot more steel and luxury.
3. **Materials and Construction**: Modern cruise ships use materials that are light but strong. Steel is the primary material, but it's used in a way that maximizes strength while minimizing weight.
- **Air**: Yes, air. The ship is full of it. Air is light, and having lots of it inside the ship (in the form of cabins, ballrooms, and those endless buffets) helps in keeping the overall density low.
4. **Stability**: Cruise ships have a low center of gravity due to their design, which helps in preventing them from tipping over. They also have ballast systems that can adjust the ship's weight distribution for stability.
So, in essence, a cruise ship floats because:
- **It's designed to displace a lot of water** (more than its own weight).
- **Its shape** helps in this displacement.
- **It's made of materials** that keep it light yet strong.
- **Air inside** adds to the buoyancy.
Next time you're on a cruise, sipping your cocktail by the pool, remember you're floating because of some clever human engineering and a Greek dude named Archimedes who had an "Eureka!" moment in his bathtub. Cheers to that!
I found a guy who goes around the US asking 70 to 100-year-olds their:
• Biggest Regrets
• Biggest Lessons
• Advice to their younger self
Oddly enough, most of their answers are the same…
Here are my top 8:
