A friend of mine wrote a book a few years ago.
It was about separating from Canada...
reluctantly.

Separatists do not hate Canada. They lament the loss of it. We have tried to save it for ten years to no avail. We were pleading with people in 2019 to wake up and get rid of this menace ideologue, Justin Trudeau, quickly before it was too late because we saw what was coming.

And now with the country in shambles, people point to us as the bad guys.

We are not the bad guys.

If you voted for Justin Trudeau and now Mark Carney, you are the bad guys.

You voted for your nation's demise.

The globalist talons are now locked so deeply into Canada that it cannot be saved.

Sadly, Pierre Poilievre waited one election cycle too long and now he can't save it.

The only thing he can do if elected is put a band-aid on a sucking chest wound.

Wanting to jump from a sinking ship is not a traitorous act. It's self-preservation and it's preserving the future for the next generations to come.

All of you pretend patriots wrapping yourself in the flag should be ashamed of yourselves.

It is the duty of all citizens to educate themselves and cast a vote based on facts rather than feelings...or who the government tells you to hate.

Canada is not gone because of Alberta separatists or Canadian Conservatives.

It's gone because the left took it from us.

🚨BREAKING 🚨

The court has issued a stay on the citizens' initiative process, preventing Elections Alberta from counting the vote on the Alberta independence petition.

This was anticipated. As many of us know, many judges in Alberta are appointed by Ottawa and do not serve the interests of Albertans.

However, this decision does not stop the current collection of signatures by Stay Free Alberta and signatures can continue to be collected until May 2nd.

The Independence movement planned for this.

There are still many ways forward. One option is to have a third party validate the signatures and present the results to the Premier to demonstrate the democratic mandate for Albertans to hold a referendum.

This process will not be derailed by activist judges.

Monte Solberg provided reasons why Alberta should stay in Canada in his article "The Case for Canada". Let's have a look.

Reason 1. Alberta has thrived economically inside Canada, not despite it.

What federal regulation or tax policy in the last decade plus demonstrates this? Has the following helped Alberta?
• Bill C-48 (Oil Tanker Moratorium Act)
• Bill C-69 (Impact Assessment Act / Canadian Energy Regulator Act, often called the “No More Pipelines Act”)
• Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act (federal carbon tax / backstop)
• Oil and Gas Sector Greenhouse Gas Emissions Cap Regulations
• Clean Electricity Regulations (under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act)

Reason 2. Trudeau's era was damaging but not typical — he is now gone.

Mark Carney was Trudeau's advisor. Different face, same brain running Canada. Continuity of anti-energy policy is the new normal, not an aberration.

Reason 3. Federal-provincial cooperation has delivered real benefits.

If there's legitimate cooperation, why is the majority of our trade North / South and why does it seem less restrictive than East-West? In the last 11 years it has been one-sided obstruction, not partnership. Past "wins" do not excuse current sabotage of over $500 billion in lost investment.

Reason 4. Equalization and taxes aren't grounds to leave — Albertans still pay less in total taxes.

Federal tax enslavement is no grounds to stay. Alberta’s massive net contribution ($600+ billion in equalization alone) funds other provinces while receiving regulatory punishment in return. Low provincial taxes is a reflection on Alberta, not Canada. If you are going to compare federal taxes, you compare it to our closest neighbour, America, where they have lower income tax rates and zero sales tax.

Reason 5. Unity brings strength, especially against external threats.

Unity has delivered weakness on pipelines, energy markets, and resource development. External threats only rear their ugly head when the federal government attempts to artificially stimulate or protect industries in central Canada such as dairy, auto, etc which causes retaliatory impacts on Western Canada.

Reason 6. Canada offers warmth, decency, shared experiences and national identity.

There is nothing warm or decent about DEI. How warm is MAID? What is warm or decent about federal policies that treat Alberta’s core industries as a national problem to be managed or phased out?

Reason 7. Alberta succeeds by engaging outward, not retreating into separation.

History shows Alberta has limited influence inside Canada. Alberta is structurally underrepresented in the House of Commons and Senate. Distance from Ottawa plus bilingualism requirements restrict Alberta participation in all forms of government roles. Blanket Ottawa-driven federal policies will never prioritize Alberta. To maintain power, federal politicians must cater to Quebec and Ontario. Decentralized governance always has a stronger track record of responsiveness compared to centrslized federal controls.

It’s very possible the courts could block the signature collection process again.

The only safe strategy is simple: get as many signatures as possible, as fast as possible.

Greetings progressive Easterners. I have noticed that some of you are quite upset and even enraged by the current quest of many Albertans to have Alberta leave Canada.

Now hear me out.

If you consider it, you're taking this all wrong. Consider the progressive utopian paradise that Canada could be if "polluting", "knuckle-dragging", "bigoted", "backward" conservative Alberta was gone! I mean, that is what you think about us, right? I see those descriptions of us every day on social media, so imagine how great it'll be for y'all once we're no longer holding back your progressive goals and dreams!

With Alberta gone (maybe with Saskatchewan too if you're lucky) there will be no stopping your heart's most desired policies from coming true. Without us there could be:

✅ unlimited diversity and immigration
✅ true Net Zero with heavy taxes for CO2 emissions
✅ collective rights over individual rights
✅ severe hate speech laws
✅ gun confiscation
✅ almost no more conservative politicians

All this and much more can be yours for the low price of zero dollars. Just let us Albertans ride off into the sunset and your dreams will become reality.

So, turn that frown upside down!

Contemplate your amazing future without Albertans bumming you out constantly. There's no need to be upset about Alberta's independence petition. You're going to get what you said you always wanted: a country where progressives will be in charge, forever.

That is what you want, right?
