The biggest spending tourists in Thailand are all from the Middle East. Average length of stay 10-12 days.🇹🇭
52% of Thailand's foreign tourism revenue comes from 8 countries:
China, Russia, Malaysia, India, UK, Germany, USA, and South Korea (~$25B out of $48B).
Thailand is done chasing tourist records. After decades of measuring success by ever-rising arrival numbers, the government is making its clearest push yet to prioritize how much visitors spend versus how many show up. https://t.co/VsHuEVynns
🚨JAL: Reports suggest that Japan Airlines may be severely limiting award availability with some redemptions appearing completely unavailable.
Some reports also confirm that this may now have been extended to JAL award redemptions through partner loyalty programs as well such as Cathay Pacific Asia Miles.
Planning to transfer credit card points to JAL? Already sitting on a stash of JAL miles? You may want to reassess your strategy before making any moves.

Marriott hotel owners are demanding higher award-room reimbursement rates now that a large share of Bonvoy points is issued to partners such as Chase.
Marriott issues Bonvoy points, charges high point rates to Bonvoy members, pays hotels a minimum amount, and raids the bank by charging high royalty fees.
Owners can control the award room inventory by having a smaller pool of rooms classified as standard.
Eventually, the system will collapse when hotel owners start reflagging properties, but before that, they will spend less cash on property upkeep, staffing, and providing elite benefits.
