*Long post but worth the read if you’re neurodivergent and it’s not an ad*

So y’all know I got back on my ADHD meds in January, therefore I’ve been getting my life fully back in order. While I’ve been creating new systems for myself I stumbled across this project management system called Koala. The company is in beta which led to me being able to test it for free for a while. It has literally changed my life and relationship with work because it was built for neurodivergent brains.

Using project management systems was the most painful experience for me before this. I literally couldn’t use one for longer than 2 months before I got rid of it. With this one I took an assessment that broke down my work style and the system built out my board based upon it. Yesterday I became the first paying customer for the app because finally something works with how my brain works.

What added the cherry on top was getting to speak with the founder and she said to me, “I built this so we can start to put the humanity back in work, let the computers be the computers and us be the creative beings we were meant to be”. I cried after we got off the call because I realized how much we have to act like machines because of this stupid ass system.

But this is getting lengthy, so if you’re neurodivergent and need a project management system built for your brain, try out Koala.

You’re context-dependent, which is very common for neurodivergent people.

Some tasks pull you, others require a fire under you.

The work is learning which is which.

Identifying what tasks guide you into fuel-mode or fire-mode.

Notice what you reach for before the pressure hits.

Even one small regulation exercise at any stage starts to rewire the pattern.
