@justincbzz Do you think it's worth to keep fighting for this town to attrit the russians? They must be under enormous pressure to take it, given the premature announcement. But so are Ukrainians to hold it after the doubtful claim that the situation is under control.
@jurgen_nauditt They are consuming their future and dumping their young men to keep their stupid and lost war going for another few months. It's sad and sickening.
@NOELreports Right, we all know that their Military-Industrial complex is pushing hard for the clean energy transition, relying on solar power and green hydrogen to supply their troops.
@Maks_NAFO_FELLA Dude, it was the 61st largest City of Ukraine with a prewar population of ~70000. Now it's an empty piece of rubble thanks to Russki mir. If they get it at some stage it's basically meaningless. They will have bought it with 10000s of men.
@Maks_NAFO_FELLA Seems like they are desperately grabbing for even the slightest propaganda win. The fact that they are not only lying but also framing this small town as a strategic gain is quite telling with respect to the state of their SMO.
@SecKennedy@POTUS This "deal", so far, is worse than the JCPOA while the latter was accomplished without waisting billions of tax payer dollars for senseless bombing and, as a result, de facto empowering the Mullah regime and rising the long-term threat to Israel. Worst deal ever!
@NSTRIKE1231 Sounds like a significant shift in tone to me. He prepares his population for a negotiated settlement, that anyone of his followers would have considered a defeat back in 2022, though they will probably frame it as a victory now.
@chriswtremo@RepDonBacon Two things can be true: US defense spending is bloated and can be cut, while Ukraine aid is high-ROI deterrence. And I disagree that this is only Europe’s interest: the US has benefited enormously from the peace order it built after WWII. Defending it is a core US interest.
@PolymarketIntel Only problem is that Russia has to pay 5x more interest for new bonds. Low debt means nothing if refinancing costs 5x more. A rising deficit will quickly crush Russia's budget under massive interest payments.
@chriswtremo@RepDonBacon This would amount to less than 1.5 % of your annual defense budget (which Trump wants to double to 1.5 trillion!) for keeping a main adversary at bay.
@RepDonBacon Thank you for beeing a voice of reason and good luck with your bill! It seems like your Admin is completely unwilling to increase pressure on Russia, despite them supporting Iran in killing US soldiers.
@WarMonitor3 Utter BS, they are living hand-to mouth. As if they didn't use all their missiles to terrorize Ukraine, especially Kyiv, for the last years already. Ukraine should finally get the missiles to destroy the production sites.
@RepDonBacon@_Mindchatter_ Zelensky also repeatedly said that he would happily step down after the war ended if he loses, while Putin worked hard to extend his illegitimate reign of Terror indefinitely.
