We have launched a new investigation at Restore Britain with researcher @Artemisfornow into the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill.

This legislation quietly builds the framework for a national child data system that interlinks with Digital ID.

The Bill proposes giving every child in the UK a “Single Unique Identifier” (SUI), forcing schools, councils, and health bodies to share personal data, and creating registers for all home-educated children.

It’s being sold as “safeguarding,” but the architecture mirrors a digital ID for minors with permanent tracking potential, no clear opt-out, and powers left open to future ministers.

We’ve submitted targeted FOI requests to the Department for Education, DHSC, DSIT, ICO, and key councils to uncover how this connects to the government’s wider Digital ID plans.

If this system expands as drafted, it could quietly redefine childhood privacy in Britain.
