@orzelc I had a recent hit song stuck in my head and I couldn't remember who sang it so I looked it up and the search results had the absolute GALL to inform me that "recent" was actually fourteen years ago.
@Waltjan9 My favorite part about the one F4 image is the person shooting a TLR camera, viewfinder closed, no fingers anywhere near the shutter release. Which, sure, totally possible that a human artist would do that, but it's such a weird detail to include if you have no idea how it works.
@CharliePryor@DiscussingFilm I love the idea that a human artist who has never used a medium-format camera would decide to put one in their illustration.
@MadeOfMonsters@_r_o_n_e_ It was just something that was on while I was in the room for a while, but season 4 really hooked me. And then we haven't had a chance to get back to it, I think we need to start season 6.
top 12 of the decade so far
for, you know, some definition of top
several movies didn't make the cut because even though they are fantastic and I enjoyed them, I didn't connect to them personally the way I did these
@EllipsisGoblins@amazon The one thing I've seen people say can work is to just relentlessly email them; some people try to guess what they were banned for and send attachments to counter it, others just email and email and email asking for a reason, and sometimes it works.
@thisismewhatevs Normally, yes, although some drivers will insist on waiting for you to come to the door. When I've asked them why, they've said it's because people have claimed the food wasn't delivered. (That said, I've also walked down the street looking at porches until I found my food.)
@EllipsisGoblins so, it's chill by comparison, but really there's just like three people left who ONLY post here, and if they move over I can close this tab forever. I'm really anxious for that day, honestly if any one of the three goes I'll probably just give up on the other two.
@EllipsisGoblins I've been unfollowing people here once I'm convinced that they're not posting stuff here that isn't also going to that other place. So my timeline now is:
- your impression of your timeline
- your Christmas Tree
- sexy clown
- cat hiding in a Christmas tree
- dead famous person
@MadeOfMonsters I watched the second film when I was very drowsy, and never came back to it, but the violence definitely didn't click with me the way it did in any of the other ones. But three things with a soul and one without cannot possibly add up to "soulless," so "delightful" it is.
@Jon__Stone@dcurtisj I mean, they must have some sort of income to justify the $8 billion valuation. Once they pair that income up with $8 billion in debt, it should take 5-8 years to bankrupt the company.
@Zheko_A@kaushikgopal ...but also "coerce" is a surprising word in this context because I expect it to mean that the return value will be a different type than X. So if it's meant to be identical to minOf() this is a kind of surprising usage.
@Zheko_A@kaushikgopal Exactly. The second one seems to be intentionally communicating that X and Y are different, and that would make it more readable when X is the value we care about and Y is just a ceiling on that value. First one reads as "these two things are similar and we want the smaller one."
