Last day as Student Trustee for @IllinoisDoctors! It’s been an honor to represent medical students from across the state.
I know the position is in good hands with my successor, Gautami Galpalli.
(Don’t get teary-eyed, I’ll be joining the Resident and Fellow Section soon 😉)
We have some new family members ya’ll!

Learning brainstem #neuroanatomy would be nearly impossible without the rule of 4s. I'm going to pass this along for anyone trying to learn #neurology, as this might be the single most powerful mnemonic I know of.
I present to you, The Rule of 4s: a #MedEd#tweetorial

Killer T cells are beautiful! This high resolution/rapid acquisition video of a T cell attacking a lymphoma cancer cell was captured on a specialized Lattice Light Sheet microscope with the help of my wonderful collaborators @HHMIJanelia. See more details in the thread below.
Paul Farmer was a visionary whose work changed the lives of countless people. His innovative efforts in social medicine — and the impact of access to health education on improving health outcomes — have made a difference at RUSH and around the world.
His influence is immeasurable. I remember when he looked straight at me when I was just a 1st year med student and told me it didn’t matter what path I took in medicine—that we were all capable of having an impact. Thank you for everything you gave us, Dr. Farmer.
It isn’t just that he served his patients, he served humanity and became a teacher whose formidable life itself is an example to learn from. It isn’t just that he sought equity in health, but that he worked for justice and inspired others to do the same. https://t.co/NzgeineWMq
I am glad that medical education is starting to incorporate curriculum about queer and trans people! But it is very harmful to frame those materials as if there are no queer or trans learners reading them.
Please o please I beg of you, acknowledge your queer and trans students.
In a now-viral tweet, fourth-year @rushuniversity medical student Niyi Soetan (@medical_niyi), shares a story about a personal connection he made with a Nigerian patient at Rush. Soetan’s story highlights how important and necessary representation in health care is.
Rush's Brennan Pavilion, which days ago housed a giant tree and holiday decor, has been transformed to accommodate the surge of patients visiting the Medical Center emergency department with COVID-19 symptoms. Thank you to our staff who have worked tirelessly on this expansion.
