The government didn’t say a WORD about the protests in southern italy that have been going on since the beginning of the month, the grocery stores are totally EMPTY, gas stations are running out of gas and yet the people understand and are handing out food and water and offering places to get clean to the truck drivers and transport workers that are parked and protesting. Nothing from the government for 20 days but after looting in milan suddenly we need new laws for “protection” and “safety”, meanwhile they deployed the army and are actively detaining minors. I genuinely don’t know how this situation can be fixed apart from the fall of this government.

I don’t think people fully understand what’s happening. We’re not being priced out of luxury. We’re being priced out of normal. A house, car, Groceries, Childcare, Insurance,These weren’t extravagant expectations 20 years ago.

the risk of becoming poor has decreased significantly because the absolute poverty has increased.
there are TONS of protests because italians can’t afford food anymore.
we can’t afford to eat.

south italy has been on complete strike for weeks now, farmers are on strike, truck drivers are on strike, grocery stores are EMPTY, there’s no gas at gas stations.
there’s a gigantic censorship going on, and the north (like myself) found out about

Perhaps nobody is talking about it, but we in southern Italy are protesting; the south is rebelling and has had enough. Not even the major news programmes in Italy are reporting it, so we, the people who live here, will speak out. SOUTHERN ITALY IS PROTESTING AND HAS HAD ENOUGH.
