A man suspected of having skipped the traditional circumcision initiation was on Wednesday apprehended and subjected to a rather unexpected open-air surgery. The man identified as Onyiso, is alleged to have been supplying high voltage electricity to married women, leaving husbands in Kaburengu wondering whether they were married to wives or had accidentally acquired power generating stations.

Fed up with what they described as an unbearable electricity crisis in their households, the Married Men Association of Kaburengu decided to take matters into their own hands. They gave Onyiso a very unforgettable lesson by forcefully circumcising him, hoping to bring his libido back to the national grid standards.

Stop framing the endorsement of CAF’s football barons as the voice of “Africa.”

Their letter of support for Gianni Infantino is the private calculation of a small group of self-interested administrators. It is not the consent of the continent. It never has been.

For years Reuters has repeated this racial editorial sleight of hand - collapsing a captured confederation into an entire people so that FIFA can claim continental legitimacy it does not possess.

That practice ends now.

Any further headline or report that presents CAF’s position as “Africa’s” will be treated as deliberate
misrepresentation.

The distinction is not semantic. It is political. And it will be enforced.

The Assassination of Chief Waruhiu wa Kung'u

On 7th October 1952, Chief Hudson Waruhiu wa Kung'u, the Paramount Chief of the Kikuyu, was assassinated along Limuru Road while on his way to attend a Native Tribunal hearing near Nairobi.

A devout Christian, Chief Waruhiu had firmly refused to take the Mau Mau oath. He openly opposed the Mau Mau movement, believing it challenged his authority as a traditional elder and threatened his position as a respected landowner.

That morning, gunmen struck at close range. Chief Waruhiu was shot four times, with blood splattering onto his two terrified passengers. His killing sent shockwaves throughout the colony and became one of the defining events leading to the declaration of the State of Emergency later that month.

During the investigation, Wahinga Waweru Kamundia (33) and Gathugu Migwe (27) allegedly claimed that members of the Koinange family had planned the assassination. According to their statements, the arrangements were made at the Koinange home outside Nairobi on the Sunday before the murder, where they were allegedly handed the pistol that would later be used to kill Chief Waruhiu. These allegations have remained part of the historical record but have long been the subject of debate.

Within a week of the assassination, investigators had arrested several suspects. Among them was Wahinga Waweru Kamundia (33), the driver and registered owner of the Ford taxi used to ferry the assassins. Following his confession, he implicated Gathugu Migwe (27), who earned a living selling second-hand clothes from a small shop in Kabete. Both men had two children each and hailed from Kiambu District.

After a trial before Justice Rudd, both men were found guilty. Witnesses identified them as occupants of the taxi involved in the assassination. They were sentenced to death and were hanged on 7th May 1953.

Chief Waruhiu's assassination remains one of the most significant and controversial episodes in Kenya's colonial history, illustrating the deep divisions that existed within Kikuyu society during the Mau Mau uprising.

History reminds us that the struggle for independence was complex. Different individuals made different choices based on their convictions, beliefs, loyalties, and the circumstances of their time.
