I'm really not sure why any founder would pay (upwards of $40,000 per hire) for a recruiter these days...

You can literally build in public and use your platform:

> Saves you $30k-50k per hire (avg cost of using a recruiter)

> Applicants come pre-vetted for niche interest in your company

> They already have a relationship with you

> They've seen the culture and the work environment

> Probably already bought into the product and you as a founder

Then it's just a call to suss out if they can actually do the work...

Or skip that and put them on a 1 week trial. Couple grand and you've got your answer.

And no... Spamming "open to work" profiles on linkedin is not gonna land you someone who actually cares about what you're building.
