“Dissent must never lead to disorder” - President Biden.
From Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “Letter From Birmingham Jail,” written in 1963:
“I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season."
When we said Biden should use his executive power to expand Medicare coverage to all due to Covid, unimaginative Dems said it would violate the spirit of a law meant to serve specific towns impacted by disasters.
So what's the excuse for not doing it now in East Palestine, Ohio?
Ohio: Dead fish and cattle being reported as far as 100 miles away from the site.
Journalists covering the story have been arrested.
What the HELL is going on?
A literal mushroom cloud of toxic chemicals detonated over the American heartland, after lobbyists and government officials weakened safety rules.
Just curious: Did any of the Sunday news shows bother to even mention this?
@tedlieu@web_rant@elonmusk If this is your true concern and not liberal pearl clutching, then the obvious solution is to nationalize and and collectivize it. Fed buys it up from Weird Elon and gives control of it to its workers. Then it’s not Trump, Biden, or any billionaire regulating speech.
The Democratic Party's current leadership is what you get when a party faces very little pressure from its own rank-and-file base, has very little progressive media holding it accountable, answers only to big donors, and seeks only to energize affluent MSNBC addicts.
