INEC Confirms Data Breach, Launches Investigation
INEC has confirmed unauthorized access to restricted backend data and says those responsible have been identified and are under investigation. The disclosure comes after Lere Olayinka, an aide to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, publicly claimed he could access Nigerians' personal data. The incident has raised concerns about data privacy and security. Wike is a key supporter of President Bola Tinubu, who is expected to seek re-election in 2027.

UPDATE: El-Rufai Spends 106 Days in ICPC Custody Over Alleged Corruption and Fraud
Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has reportedly spent 106 days in the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) as investigations and legal proceedings against him continue.
The ICPC says it is investigating him over allegations of diversion of public funds, loan fraud, violations of procurement laws, money laundering, abuse of office, fraud, and the unlawful acquisition of government assets.
However, El-Rufai has denied all the allegations, describing the investigation as politically motivated. He insists that he will defend himself only in court.
The case has sparked debate across Nigeria, with his supporters calling for his release, while the ICPC maintains that all actions taken have been authorized by the courts and are in accordance with the law.
The question now is whether the 106-day detention will further complicate Nigeria's political landscape or whether the courts will finally settle the controversy surrounding the case.

That's what a U.S. official tells Axios President Trump unloaded on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a heated phone call over Israel's military actions in Lebanon.
Trump was reportedly furious that Israel's moves risked blowing up U.S. diplomatic efforts in the region, at one point also asking Netanyahu: "What the f*** are you doing?"
Mahdi Shehu on Alleged 1995 U.S.-Backed Plot Against Abacha
Mahdi Shehu’s account of the 1995 Durbar Hotel bombing speaks to foreign interference, regime change politics, and the hidden hands that have shaped Nigeria’s political history.
According to Shehu, a U.S. Embassy political officer approached him in Kaduna, offered him money, and asked him to drop a parcel at the Durbar Hotel as part of what he described as a campaign against the Abacha government. Shehu says he refused, only for the hotel to be bombed shortly after, with journalist Bagauda Kaltho later linked to the incident.
This story forces a larger question: how many times has Nigeria’s instability been engineered, sponsored, or encouraged by foreign powers, only to be later presented to us as our own failure? This is why Africans must pay closer attention to the history we are told, the history that is hidden, and the people who benefit from our chaos.
Mallam Nasiru @elrufai is the only individual politician in Nigeria that has a pure heart! No any politician will tell you this kind of truth 😍
