Name me one thing China invented to help the world, yet the very people and civilization that created these technologies at scale are on the receiving end of deliberate and evil propaganda. Where was China when the West was developing the internet and its infrastructure? China itself is a direct beneficiary of Western technology transfer. Show some gratitude.

ORA 7 wagon and sedan unveiled in China.

ORA used to be one of the coolest EV brands in China. But a few years ago, the brand just stopped launching new cars.

Finally, ORA seems to be back with the ORA 7. It comes as a wagon and as a sporty fastback sedan. The sedan is the successor of the ORA Lighting Cat, but the wagon is an all-new model.

- wagon: 4820/1850/1520, 2870. 1985 kg curb weight.
- sedan: 4890/1850/1503, 2870. 1830 kg curb weight.
- FWD models: 150 kW.
- AWD models: 310 kW (150 front, 160 rear).

China Warns EU Over Possible Sanctions on Third-Country Companies

The EU really needs to understand one thing:
China is not a small country waiting to be disciplined by Brussels.

You want to sanction Chinese companies, Turkish companies, Indian companies, and whoever else refuses to obey your anti-Russia script?

Fine.

But do not act shocked when China responds.

Unilateral sanctions without international law or UN authorization are not “rules.”
They are power politics dressed up as morality.

And the problem for Europe is simple:
China is not defenseless.
China has the industrial capacity, market size, supply chains, and countermeasures to make sanctions hurt both ways.

Europe keeps acting as if it still commands the world economy.
It does not.

If Brussels wants to turn sanctions into a habit, China can turn countermeasures into one too.

Do not pick a fight with the factory of the world and then cry when the factory checks your supply chain.

The BYD Seal 08 is the new flagship sedan of BYD's Ocean-series.

This is the China-spec version, with a longer wheelbase. Great-looking car, with a bling-bling grille and racy round rear lights.

The car in the photos is the C350 L 4matic model.

Hongqi G919: 2.0 turbo + four electric motors, 3150 kg curb weight

The Hongqi G919 is a new ultra-badass Chinese SUV with an EREV powertrain.

It combines a 160 kW 2.0 turbo with four electric motors. The electric motors put out 620 kW and 1320 Nm. Somewhat disappointingly, the top speed is limited to only 180 km/h. It can tow 2500 kg. Battery: EVE 64.1 kWh NMC (nickel-cobalt-manganese), for a 220 km electric range.

The G919 also features a body-on-frame design and a mechanical differential lock on the front and rear axles, so it'll do nicely off-road. It also has all-terrain tires, size 275/60 R20.

Size: 5135/2050/1950, 2900. And now the panda in the room: a 3150 kg curb weight. That's a new record for China. No wonder it ain't very fast...

Volkswagen sold 5.004 ID. Era 9X SUVs in May.

The Volkswagen ID. Era 9X launched in April, so it landed in the Top 10 very quickly. The manufacturer is SAIC-VW. There's definitely a positive buzz in China around the car, with some saying that this is the car that will bring VW back into the large-SUV game.

When you look at the overall large-SUV segment, the ID. Era 9X ended up at the sixth place, just below the Aito M8 and just above the Onvo L90. 5th seems within range. Let's see what it does next month...

Luxeed RX is another Xiaomi copy

There was a time, not so long ago, that every Chinese car maker copied foreign design. It still happens nowadays, but only occasionally.

The new thing is: Chinese car makers copying each other. Just look at the new Luxeed RX. It is one of the many upcoming copies of the best-selling Xiaomi YU7 SUV. A bit sad, perhaps, but that it how things go in China: if something works - everybody will sell it.

- Curb weight: 2400-2250 kg.
- Power RWD: 277 kW, 251 km/h.

Denza Z Roaster: 4 seats and 1180 kW, 300 km/h top speed.

The Denza Z Roadster is one of the coolest Chinese cars ever. It is an electric soft-top convertible with 4 seats and insane power.

- 3 motors: 1180 kW combined. 500 kW front (!!!) and two times 340 kW at the rear.
- the strongest front-EV motor in China.
- the top speed is 300 km/h.
- Curb weight: 2290 kg.
- Size: 4780/1990/1350, 2780.

Not a small & nimble car by any means, but with so much horsepower it hardly matters. What a machine!

Stelato G9 is a badass Chinese SUV: 3062 kg curb.

The G9 is probably one of the coolest new Chinese SUVs in June. What a design! Boxy, off-road, with a lot of bling, a wide D-pillar, and stacked headlights. It is huge, and a little heavy:

- 5206/2050/1897, 3160.
- Curb weight: 2949 kg - 3062 kg. A 3 ton curb weight!
- Power EV: 437 kW (160 front, 277 rear). CATL NMC battery.
- Power EREV: 118 kW 1.5 turbo + 2 electric motors (160 kW front, 277 kW rear).

- 5 or 6 seats.

Fangcheng Bao Fangcheng S GT: speedy wagon with 490 kW

The Fangcheng Bao Fangcheng S GT (方程豹 方程GT) is a weirdly named car. It is also the first wagon of BYD's Fangcheng Bao brand.

The S GT looks super speedy, with a low hood, black lights, and 21-inch wheels.

- EV, RWD. 300 kW.
